❄️ One degree... countless ideas... and one very important reminder. 💚

Last week, the Chittering Home Care team travelled to Pingelly for the 2026 Staying in Place Expo.

It was an early start, a very chilly -1°C when we arrived, and two full days of presentations, workshops and conversations centred around the future of aged care in regional Australia.

We heard from industry leaders, government representatives and experts in aged care, quality, safeguarding, advocacy and community development. There was plenty to learn, plenty to reflect on, and plenty to take back to Chittering.

But our biggest takeaway wasn't from a PowerPoint presentation.

It came from the conversations in between.

Meeting people from Community Hubs across Western Australia reminded us that we're part of something much bigger than ourselves. Although every community has its own strengths and challenges, we're all working towards the same goal — helping older people remain living independently, safely and with dignity in the communities they call home.

It was wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces, meet many new ones, and share ideas, experiences and a few laughs along the way.

Community isn't just about the place you live.

It's about the people who genuinely support one another, share what they've learned, and work together to make things better.

We're proud to be part of the Staying in Place community, and we're looking forward to putting many of the ideas and connections from the Expo into practice here in Chittering.

💚 Together, we're helping people stay in place... and stay connected. 💙🏡

What a wonderful morning we shared at Chittering Home Care on Wednesday, 1 July!

We had the pleasure of welcoming the InCasa Country team to our hub for an informative and engaging Information Session and Meet & Greet.

A big thank you to Tony, Fiona and Bec for taking the time to introduce InCasa, explain the services they provide, and answer everyone's questions. It was also lovely to have Ines join us for the morning.

It was fantastic to see more than 50 people attend the session, with clients, family members and community members coming together to learn more about the aged care supports available in our region.

Following the presentation, everyone enjoyed a scrumptious lunch of homemade soup, followed by a delicious selection of sweet cakes and muffins. A heartfelt thank you to the Chittering Residents & Ratepayers Association for generously providing lunch and helping make the day such a welcoming and enjoyable occasion.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the morning such a success. We look forward to hosting more community events like this in the future.

We recently shared this information with our clients and thought it may be helpful to share here too.

Navigating aged care, Centrelink, and related services can sometimes feel overwhelming, so this free community information session may be a great opportunity to learn more and ask questions directly of the experts.
