ALDI Australia please look in to this, netting has such a devastating impact on our precious native wildlife!

When you bag quality for less. That’s an ALDI price.

“People who feed birds care about them. Right now, changing how we feed them is part of that care.”

Many Australians feed wild birds, but as H5 bird flu spreads, the Biodiversity Council warns that backyard bird feeders can create hotspots for disease transmission. Here are four ways you can reduce your risk.

Waratah fam I need your help! And I hate asking but I’m so worn out by this and I have too much on my plate again! It’s a bit of a story so bear with me-

Some of you may remember that a business kindly sealed the wildlife hospital floor with epoxy for us (over a year ago now) and there were several posts going around thanking them. What I didn’t post about was the nightmare that followed- months of back and forth as the floor didn’t set, promises to fix it never followed through, serious delays in the project because of the tacky sticky floor. Finally he promised to refund what I had paid him and then after several months just stopped contacting me.
I’ve since had another company remove all the layers of crap he left me with and have had the floor properly sealed.
Now I’m out a fair whack of money, and I can’t afford to continue the hospital project without it and I am not willing to ask for donations to the project until I can recover the money (the initial outlay was from funds kindly donated to have the hospital set up).
So I went to VCAT and after a whole lot of time- stress and aggravation I’ve got an order that says he needs to pay me the money I paid him plus the money spent to have the defective flooring removed.
BUT he hasn’t made any contact nor replied to me so I assume he doesn’t intend on paying me. It seems the next step is to pursue this via the Magistrates court. Something I really don’t want yo have to do. I am exhausted, but I know if I don’t I won’t be able to set up the hospital for the animals. I won’t be able to ask for further help and donations in good conscience and he will get away with it! This has been such a nightmare for me, people donate money knowing that I will ensure it is used for the animals and spent wisely. While I know this isn’t my fault I feel so guilty about it all.

So long story short- is there anyone with experience in this sort of thing that can help me get it done as smoothly as possible?

Please take a moment to sign this petition! The cuts will greatly affect the AWHC at Healesville sanctuary and the animals will suffer!

A big shout out and massive thank you to Billy Crombie and the crew at Babajis Kerala Kitchen Yarra Valley! And thank you to everyone who showed up for a delicious feast and supported the shelter. We rely entirely on the generosity of the community to do the work we do here and we are so very grateful to have everyone’s support!

We’ve been meaning to let you know that last week’s community day - together - we raised $450 for local Waratah Wildlife Shelter!

🙏 We’re sorry for the delay in reporting back.

There’s been a lot going on at Babajis HQ - including being blocked by the NAB from our accounts (not for anything we have done wrong). 32 hours on the phone later....
😡 Still working on a resolution.
It’s been a stressful week to own a small business.

But amongst the 💩 - is this moment that makes us happy and proud. After all - that’s all its truly about for us - community.

Thanks Warby for your support of Babaji’s Community Day.

X Babajis

In the cost of living crisis shelters struggle more than ever. And yet the government does nothing to support us.

Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation is not a luxury; it is an essential community service that deserves our collective recognition and investment.

Big shout out and thank you to LnLz Wildlife Care & Rescue for helping us out with this great haul of supplies and thanks to the lovely Nic for picking it all up. I’ve been so flat out with rescues and babies I’ve been terribly slack at posting so I do apologies for that!
