πŸŽ„Thank you to everyone who came along to our Christmas in July celebration and helped make it such a fantastic afternoon.

A special thank you to our amazing Chef Calum and Sarah, and their wonderful kitchen volunteers for preparing a beautiful hot roast lunch. It was truly amazing food, cooked on site, by our community, for our community. πŸ‘πŸ½οΈ

Thank you also to the marvellous Macca Dacca Band for the rocking tunes and to all our volunteers who helped make the day such a success (especially the lovely crew who washed up).

See you every Friday evening from 4 pm❀️

What a fantastic way to celebrate our hall's 70th birthday on Sunday! πŸŽ‚πŸ›οΈ

A huge thank you to Marmion St Fresh & Gourmet for generously providing the delicious birthday cake, and to **Fred and Narelle from Bakers Delight Myaree** for the fresh jam and cream scones enjoyed by everyone throughout the afternoon. πŸ“β˜•

A special thank you to Jacky Lad and the Blues Cruisers Band for providing the live music and keeping the hall buzzing with great tunes and dancing throughout the afternoon. πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒ

Thank you to all who joined us for the celebration, including representatives from the Applecross RSL Sub Branch and the ever-enthusiastic Fremantle Shivering Shags Winter Swimming Club

A special thank you to Lisa O'Malley MLA Lisa O'Malley MLA, who officially rang the bell to commission our new air-conditioning system. We are grateful for her support in helping secure this important upgrade, which will make the hall a more comfortable place for our community to gather for many years to come.

A big shout-out also goes to our volunteers, especially Philby and Ric, our newest bar crew members, who stepped up on Sunday to help make the afternoon a success. Community clubs only thrive because of volunteers willing to lend a hand.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who continues to support and use this community facility. For 70 years, the hall has been bringing people together, creating friendships, and strengthening community connections.

We look forward to many more years of good times, great memories, and community spirit.

If you haven't visited us before, we'd love to welcome you soon. ❀️

πŸŽ‚πŸ›οΈ ** SUNDAY 7 JUNE Our Hall Turns 70!** πŸ›οΈπŸŽ‚

Built in June 1956 as the Bicton Palmyra Memorial Hall, our beloved old hall is celebrating its 70th birthday.

Sure, she has a few leaks, a few cracks in the walls, and the occasional creak, but for seven decades she has been the heart of our community. She's hosted dances, celebrations, meetings, fundraisers, friendships, and enough stories to fill a history book.

The stories of local servicemen and women who helped build our community are part of this hall's proud history. And the tales of those who danced the night away at the Bicton Stomp before heading to Point Walter in an EH Holden... well, those stories will remain safely locked away! πŸ˜‰

πŸŽ‰ Sunday 7 JUNE Celebration Program

🍺 **1:00pm – Bar Opens**
🎱 **1:00pm – Free Pool Table Available**
πŸ“β˜• **2:00pm – FREE Jam & Cream Scones, Tea and Coffee**
πŸŽ‚ **3:00pm – 70th Birthday Cake Cutting Ceremony**
πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒ **4:00pm – Live Music with The Jacky Ladbrook Blues Cruisers Band**

But this celebration is about much more than a building.

This old hall belongs to the community. It was built by the community, sustained by the community, and its future depends on the community.

70 years ago, local residents had the vision to create a place where people could come together, support one another, share a laugh, lend a hand, and build lasting friendships. As the current custodians of this hall, we all have a responsibility to continue that tradition for future generations.

Whether you're a long-time local, a new resident, young, old, or somewhere in between, this is YOUR community. We encourage you to come along, get involved, meet your neighbours, join an activity, volunteer your time, or simply enjoy being part of a connected and caring community.

Strong communities don't happen by accident. They are built by people who turn up, lend a hand, and look out for one another.

So come and celebrate 70 years of community spirit with us and help ensure this hall remains a vibrant community hub for the next 70 years.

**FREE community event – everyone is welcome.**

β€οΈπŸ›οΈ *Keeping our community connected since 1956.*

ps The Committee will formally acknowledge **Lisa O'Malley MLA, Member for Bicton**, and thank her for supporting the hall's recent air-conditioning upgrades, helping ensure this important community facility remains comfortable and welcoming for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our ANZAC Day Dawn Service and Gunfire Breakfast at Bicton on Saturday.

It was a special morning of reflection, connection, and community, and we’re grateful to all who came along to pay their respects.

A big thank you to our incredible volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the day run so smoothly, from the early start to the final clean-up.

We’d also like to acknowledge and thank our local Cadets, Scouts and Girl Guides for their involvement, Fr Francis for his contribution to the service and the students from Santa Maria College who delivered wonderful speeches.

We’re proud to be part of such a supportive community.
Lest we forget.
