A 4 day trip to Little Desert, Victoria with Riverland 4WD Club, Jackaroo 4wd Club (Victoria), & SA 4WD and Touring Club was a wonderful way to explore the area, get to know great people and kick back & relax.
We saw sand, water, mud, 1889 railway station, heaps of wild flowers, camp fire, bogged 4x4's, a snake, did I say RAIN! and much much more.
A fun weekend with a touch of education! Lol.

At our August General Meeting, Bill Starr spoke about his epic journey with three companions along the Coopers Creek from near Windorah to its mouth at Lake Eyre. This was achieved in four sections as the crew waited for sufficient water to come down to enable them to paddle on. The first two stages were done with Monsoon rains but luckily big rains came giving them the flood they needed to finish the journey in 2025. An absolutely fascinating account of modern adventure. 🙂🛶

Our “River Ramble” trip was a winner! Even the weather turned up trumps! Thanks to Mark for leading this trip to Martin’s Bend on the Murray and many thanks to the Riverland 4WD club for hosting some of our day trips during our stay. Collaboration between clubs is a great way to go exploring!! 🚙 🥇 😎👍

This is what we got up to yesterday.
Some 4WD training and practice with our good freinds from the SA 4WD and Touring Club. It was a mixed bag of support and guidance face to face and via UHF radio in real life experiences. Including appropriate tyre pressures, gear selection, diff locks in or out, wheel placement and a couple of unintended winch recoveries. Lol.
Such a good time was had by all in a very safe environment.

Our recent day trip to Gluepot was packed with stunning scenery, fascinating history, abundant wildlife and great company, making it a fantastic adventure from start to finish. Highlights included exploring the old homestead, spotting native birds, hearing the inspiring story of Gluepot's conservation work from the Rangers, and enjoying a relaxed lunch with fellow members. The rain over the past few months is rewarding us with big patches of Desert Peas just beginning to burst into colour. It's something special for us to see at Mt Ive where we don't often have creeks running with such a vibrant green country side... Why not check it out for yourself!
