More than $4.6 million in tourism funding announced for the River Murray region! 👏🏼

Several tourism and accommodation projects across the Riverland have received funding through the Australian Government's Sustainable Communities Program.

Congratulations to the successful recipients!

Funding has been allocated to:

📍 Riverland Clearwater (Pike River Villas / Riverland W**e Centre)
📍 Nor West Bend Station, Morgan
📍 Waikerie Hotel Motel
📍 Riverside Paringa Eco Tourist Park

Yesterday we hosted our third Tourism Industry Coffee Catch Up, this time in Loxton ☕️

It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces, as well as plenty of new ones, with tourism operators, local organisations, council members and the Mayor all joining us for a morning of conversation, connection and of course, coffee.

A big thank you to The Collective Loxton for hosting us. It was lovely to see (and sample) so many locally made goodies, and thank you to Our Fifth Season for the delicious coffees!

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 – 𝗘𝗢𝗜𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻

Expressions of Interest are now open for the South Australian Tourism Commission’s Experience Development Program, with upcoming sessions specifically for tourism operators in the Riverland and Murray River, Lakes & Coorong regions.

The free program supports tourism businesses to develop a distinctive, bookable visitor experience, with practical guidance to help make it compelling, inclusive, sustainable and competitive.

Only eight businesses will be selected, with up to two people able to participate from each business. While operators from other regions can apply, preference will be given to Riverland and MRLC businesses.

If you’ve been thinking about developing a new experience or strengthening an existing one, this is a great opportunity to get some hands-on support.

What an incredible morning in Loxton for Skywhales Across Australia!

It was wonderful to see such a unique event come to the Riverland and our community come out to experience Patricia Piccinini’s incredible Skywhale and Skywhalepapa take to the skies.

Georgia joined Simone from the District Council of Loxton Waikerie to welcome Patricia to the region with a special Riverland gift filled with local produce, w**e and goodies. A little taste of our region to take home.

A huge congratulations and thank you to the team at the District Council of Loxton Waikerie for bringing such a memorable event to Loxton and all the work that went into making it happen. It was fantastic to see the Riverland play host to an event of this scale! 👏

The South Australian Government is hosting a community forum in Berri tomorrow, Tuesday 11 August, providing an update on the ongoing response to H5 bird flu detections across South Australia.

The forum will cover current preparedness measures and animal, human and environmental health considerations, with presentations and a panel Q&A featuring government leaders and experts.

This week, the Riverland welcomed the Channel 10 News team as they explored the people, places and experiences that make our region so special. 🤍

From sunrise kayak tours, lookouts, boat tours and iconic houseboats to country pubs, cellar doors, local coffee roasters and seeing our famous Riverland oranges transformed into fresh juice, they experienced just a taste of what makes this region unforgettable.
