Bermagui Urban Food Farmers - BUFF

Bermagui Urban Food Farmers - BUFF The acronym BUFF has connotations for our group to work at the edge or buffer zone between food production and meeting demand for fresh, seasonal local food.

Established 2014 to maintain seasonal food based on permaculture principles:
* Feed BUFFers
* Food swap/supply
* Gardening support/share gardens
* Value adding/revenue raising
* Central distribution
* Grow to eat, eat to grow The buffer zone also refers to where the urban/regional or agricultural zones meet, perhaps a forgotten or challenging area, to date. BUFF encompasses a feeling of ruggedness

and resilience and BUFF’ers could do many things for our community on several fronts, perhaps gaining a similar popularity and being as useful as WOOF’ers. Objectives:
• Providing constant supply of seasonal, fresh, clean foods for BUFF’ers
• Implement and run a system for swapping and sharing local food
• Support and extending private production of local food and produce
• Create and manage new community and pop up food gardens
• Establish and support sale of local food and value added products
• Centralise and manage distribution of local food produce to those in need

We are very pleased to be auspiced by SCPA-South Coast Producers and regarded as 'an activity run in association with SCPA-South East Producers’
