Our 2026/27 season kicks off this Saturday, and we’re welcoming new players to join our three senior teams. All experience levels are welcome.

If you’re around Bentleigh or the neighbouring suburbs and keen to play, Come along to Thursday training at Victory Park from 5:30pm and meet the West Bentleigh crew!

🔥 PRES v VICE PRES – THE SEASON LAUNCH SHOWDOWN! 🔥

Years in the making.

Years of blood. Sweat. Tears.

Years of simmering tension, questionable decisions and unfinished business.

It’s all led to this moment.

Tomorrow at West, we kick off the 2026/27 season with a T20 showdown between the President’s XI and the Vice President’s XI!

Two teams. Two massive egos. Years of beef to be settled on the field.

Forget the friendly hit out. There’s pride on the line, bragging rights up for grabs and absolutely no chance either captain takes a backwards step.

We know the Shield grades kick off tomorrow too, but let’s be serious… Why waste your Saturday watching the same ordinary standard of cricket elsewhere when you can get it right here at West?

With two sides boasting a questionable mix of talent, experience and blokes who haven’t picked up a bat in months, there’s no telling what might unfold.

The real blockbuster is at Victory Park!

Players arrive at 12pm for a 12:30pm start

POST GAME BBQ & HAPPY HOUR!

We’ll be firing up the BBQ and running happy hour after the match for all players and members! Get down to West, enjoy some cricket and stick around for a feed, a few drinks and plenty of laughs as we kick off another season together!

MATCH RULES
• Can’t get out first ball – Swing for the fences!
• Maximum 3 overs per bowler
• Batters retire at 50 runs
• Powerplay: First 4 overs, plus 2 additional overs to be taken anytime in the final 10
• Free hits off all no balls
• Leg side wides will be called
• Scores tied? Super Over (2 wickets)
• NO WHITE SHIRTS OR PANTS! We’re playing with white balls.

Two teams. One winner. A whole season of bragging rights on the line. Let the battle begin!

THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER! 🐶🏏

After a long pre season, cricket is finally back at West Bentleigh!

A huge few days ahead with everyone returning to Victory Park tomorrow afternoon, our Senior Season Launch on Saturday, and the Rookies getting the honour of playing the club’s first game of the season on Sunday!

Then it’s full steam ahead towards Senior Round 1 the following weekend.

Great to have the Bulldogs back together - players, families, members and supporters, we’ll see you at West! 🩵💛

💙💛 MEET THE CAPTAINS – JAMIE SASSON💛💙

We’ve introduced the 3s. We’ve introduced the 2s. Now it’s time to finish the series with the man leading our 1st XI in 2026/27 - Jamie Sasson! 🐶

Jamie has been part of West for a long time and knows exactly what the club means to the people around it. He cares about the group, cares about the direction of the club and will wear the captaincy with plenty of pride this season.

He brings experience, competitiveness and a real drive to see the 1s succeed. More than that, he’s a genuine West bloke who’s put plenty into the club over the years and takes just as much pride in seeing the people around him do well as he does in his own cricket.

There’s a lot of excitement around the season ahead, and Jamie will be right at the heart of it.

Good luck, Jamie - We’re looking forward to seeing the 1s get stuck in, take their chances and make some noise this year!

💙💛 MEET THE CAPTAINS – ROB TINDALL💛💙

Next up in our Meet the Captains series is another very familiar face around Victory Park - our 2nd XI Captain for 2026/27, Rob Tindall! 🐶

Rob’s been around West for plenty of years and knows the club and local cricket inside out. He loves the club, loves a Saturday of cricket and is never too far away when there’s something happening around the club.

This season he takes charge of the 2s, with a good mix of experienced Bulldogs, younger players coming through and, as always, a few blokes who’ll be letting the skipper know exactly where they reckon they should be batting!

Rob will bring plenty of experience and competitiveness to the role, but just as importantly, he’ll make sure the boys enjoy their cricket and have a good time doing it.
We’re looking forward to seeing what the 2s can do this year!

We’re kicking off our Meet the Captains series with someone who has been part of West for a long time and knows exactly what this club is about - our 3rd XI Captain, Chris Tuttleby! 🐶

Tutts has been around West for years and brings plenty of experience, competitiveness and a real connection to the club. He’s the kind of bloke who understands the importance of enjoying your cricket, backing your teammates and making sure everyone feels part of the side.

This season, Tutts will lead our 3rd XI and play an important role in bringing together experienced players, returning cricketers and those looking to make their mark at West.

We’re looking forward to seeing Tutts lead the boys and help set the tone for a big season ahead! 💙💛

💙💛 MEET THE COACHES - JACK MACLEOD 💛💙

Our final coach reveal for season 2026/27 is a name West Bentleigh knows very well - Jack Macleod! 🐶

Jack’s cricket journey started right here at West Bentleigh, and over the years he has become a lifelong Bulldog and a huge part of the club.

This season, Jack will be helping lead our junior program across both Blasters and Rookies, working with the next generation of young Bulldogs coming through at West.

With plenty of experience in the game and a Diploma in Coaching, Jack brings fantastic knowledge, energy and leadership to our junior coaching team.

Jack knows what West Bentleigh is all about, and he’s passionate about helping young players learn the game, build confidence and enjoy their cricket in a fun and supportive environment.

Whether your child is just getting started in Blasters or ready to take the next step into Rookies, Jack will play a big part in helping them develop and enjoy their cricket journey at West. 💙💛
