Bendigo Chinese Association 大金山中華公會 The Bendigo Chinese Association has been a part of the Bendigo community since 1871.

We strive to continue the ongoing traditions of performing charitable acts and working together with the Bendigo community. Our respect for the community drives us to continue to promote good will and understanding between Chinese, Australians and other nationalities.

A traditional celebration of lion and dragon dance, presented by the Bendigo Chinese Association and visiting lion and dragon teams. It will conclude with lighting a spectacular string of 100,000 firecrackers used to wake Dai Gum Loong from his year-long slumber.

TOMORROW - YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS

AWAKENING OF THE DRAGON

Join the Bendigo Chinese Association for the Awakening of the Dragon, a spectacular day of culture, tradition, and non-stop entertainment.

Enjoy five hours of action-packed performances presented by the Bendigo Chinese Association and proudly supported by seven visiting lion, dragon, and martial arts teams from across the country. Experience the colour, energy, and skill of traditional lion and dragon dance in one of Bendigo’s most iconic cultural celebrations.

The day will conclude with a spectacular string of 100,000 firecrackers, which will awaken Dai Gum Loong from his year-long slumber, ready to parade on Easter Sunday!

Bring your family and friends and enjoy this proud community tradition.
