The hardest thing about doing the marketing for The Phatt is trying to come up with an original idea each week to give the show a nudge out into socials-land. So instead of doing that, we thought we would just ramble for a while to see if anyone noticed - helloooooooo!
Anyways, back to what we're (not) paid for...
This week The Phatt will be doing what they do and brighten up your Wednesday morning from 7 a.m. on Phoenix FM 106.7 by doing speaky things and musical interludes and such. They will of course be doing their music trivia thingy around 7:30, and spinning a vinyl platter just before they take a break for the 8 a.m. news and weather.
In the second hour however, they will be doing something much more exciting and welcoming the Deputy Mayor of The City of Greater Bendigo, Cr. Karen Corr to have a chat about what's happening around our communities.
If all that isn't enough reason to tune in on Wednesday (and every Wednesday), then we need to do better - and we will!

In this week's Community Conversation, Brett and Keith chatted with Holly and Maggie from Sports Focus.
Established in 1983, Sports Focus is a non-profit organisation which aims to support and empower sporting clubs to be more safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces for the broader community to enjoy sport and active recreation.
Holly and Maggie, who are both part of the Sports Focus team came in to let Brett and Keith know all about their work and how they support healthier and more inclusive communities.

Another week, and another sterling edition of The Phatt hitting the Phoenix FM airwaves. The usual banter started the morning off before Brett and Keith launched into "I Don't Know Yet", and Keith actually managed to get a few right this time out, picking for his full play The Clouds classic track Heironymous.
Finishing off the first hour, Brett got out his 'old' copy of Bloxy’s VSPY VSPY's cracker early 80's album A.O. Mod TV Vers, spinning opening track Don't Tear It Down to celebrate the album returning to number 1. on the ARIA Charts.
In the Community Conversation, they were joined by Holly and Maggie from Sports Focus to chat about the great work they do in supporting the health, vitality and diversity of local community sport and recreation organisations. A very interesting chat that opened Brett and Keith's eyes to the mountain of work this great organisation has done for over 40 years across the region.

It's the start of another week and The Phatt are gearing up for this Wednesday's installment of Bendigo's favourite midweek Community radio brekky show.
What do they have planned for this week's show? Well, there will be the usual opening banter and Brett will do his best to confound Keith in their unique music trivia segment "I Don't Know Yet", and late in the first hour Brett will get to spin one of his records in "This Is Mine".
In the Community Conversation from 8 a.m. they will be joined by Holly and Maggie from Sports Focus, who are a Regional Sports Assembly established in 1983 by Sport & Recreation Victoria to provide better support to sports clubs in central Victoria by helping them to be more safe, inclusive and welcoming for the broader community to enjoy sport and active recreation.
This will be another gerat chat!

Here we are at show number 101 for The Phatt, and it's business as usual as Brett and Keith launch into their normal bantering start before rolling with some great Australian music and getting stuck into "I Don't Know Yet" where Keith made a great go of the cryptic songs Brett had selected. As a full play from the songs Keith chose the Deadstar classic "Deeper Water". This week it was Keith's turn to spin a vinyl and he chose the classic Models mini-album Cut Lunch and it's iconic opening track "Two Cans to the Toucan".
In the Community Conversation they sat down with Chris Corr and David Macauley from Square Action the Golden Square Community Action group to talk about all things Golden Square and some of their ideas for helping to make their community even more vibrant and engaging.
All in all, another great morning on The Phatt - the show you didn't know you needed, but you do.

Like many Bendigonians you probably get to 7 a.m. on a Wednesday morning and wonder, "What amazingly entertaining and informative media can I consume this morning so that I am left feeling uplifted and ready to take on the day?".
Well, also like (too) many Bendigonians, you mustn't have heard of The Phatt yet - because for 100 editions The Phatt has been hitting the airwaves on Phoenix FM 106.7 right here in Bendigo - and they are back again this week!
Brett and Keith will no doubt be starting with their usual banter before rolling into their now legendary "I Don't Know Yet" segment where Brett tries his best to disguise Australian songs so that Keith can't guess which songs they are - how will he go this week? And this week just before 8 a.m. it will be Keith's turn to spin a vinyl record from his collection during "This Is Mine".
In the Community Conversation from 8 a.m. this week they welcome back Chris Corr who visited recently as part of the Bike Bendigo team, but this week he's joined by David Macauley (who is actually a long-time colleague of Keith's from his working days) as they talk about Square Action, which is a gathering of community people who are looking to support the growth and promotion of the suburb of Golden Square. This will be another great chat!

For their Community Conversation on the 100th episode of The Phatt, Brett and Keith chatted with Debra Allanson who is CEO of Arena Theatre Company who are celebrating 60 years of creativity and imagination.
Despite the age of the organisation, Arena doesn't sit still and on October 3 they will be delivering their second iteration of The Creativerse at Ulumbarra Theatre, where they celebrate the intersection of art, teach and play, bringing together kids and families in a huge day of activities.
Debra talked about the history of Arena, what they do, and how they act as a hub for bringing together organisations to deliver days like The Creativerse.

And so it came to pass that The Phatt delivered their 100th show on Phoenix FM 106.7, full of the rambling, ranting and ruminations that have marked the 99 shows before.
Brett and Keith had an action packed show lined up and they delivered, despite one guest not being available they did what they do and played plenty of great Australian music, with Brett giving a vinyl from his collection a run in "This Is Mine", choosing the Full Flower Moon Band's track Westside for a spin.
In the second hour they had a great chat with Debra Allanson, CEO of Arena Theatre Company who are celebrating 60 years of delivering innovative and engaging creative work. They focused on the second iteration of The Creativerse this weekend, which delivers an immersive experience aimed at kids and families.

They said they'd never make it, but this Wednesday from 7 a.m. on Phoenix FM, Bendigo's favourite midweek brekkie community radio show hits the ton!
Yes folks, Brett and Keith have managed to stay on air for 100 shows, and they're not done yet.
This week, as well as the usual mayhem of "I Don't Know Yet" and Brett spinning a vinyl on "This Is Mine", they're beefing up the chit chat with not one, but two special guests!
They will be having a phone chat in the first hour with Leslie D. King who is coming to town to bring his band The Trembling Shakes and their particular brand of rock and soul, and then in the second hour they will be catching up with Debra Allanson from Arena Theatre Co. to talk about The Creativerse, where art, tech and play collide, and which kicks off on the 3rd of october at Ulumbarra Theatre. This is a great even for kids and families to engage with arts and creativity.
