Spring is here and The Phatt bounced out of the blocks this week with their usual sunshine and fun banterings. The first hour had a good load of Oz music this week to get your Wednesday off to a great start.
In “I Don’t Know Yet” Brett changed up the format using song lyrics for Keith to try and guess which song they were from, with some very interesting results! For a full play Keith ended up picking one of his all-time favourite bands The Sports with their topical classic “Who Listens to the Radio?”.
To round out the first hour Brett ran with a spin of Smith Street Band frontman Will Wagner’s solo work Spiralling with “God, the Devil and Bruce Springsteen”.
In the second hour they had a chat with Drew Harrison about the Australian Flyball Championships that are being held in Bendigo on the 26th and 27th of September (along with a Phoenix FM live broadcast) - this sounds like it could be a great day for the family to catch some canine capers.
Other songs on this week’s episode;
Pancake Slap - Hey I Love Your Tee-Shirt
INXS - Fair Weather Ahead
Lahgo - What I Need
Bad Debts - Some Situation
Loose Goose - Hot Coffee
QED - Everywhere I Go
The Fauves - Dogs Are the Best People
Another exciting week on The Phatt!
Missed the show? No worries at all - you can listen back via the Phoenix FM Omny on-demand platform (link in our bio)

By the time we hit Wednesday morning winter will be over and spring will be here! And we've had such a great burst of early spring weather this past weekend that Brett and Keith are absolutely bursting with sunshine to bring to your radio on The Phatt this Wednesday from 7 a.m.
And, although winter may be gone, some things won't change, and that is that The Phatt will be bringing the banter and Oz music that you all love.
In the first hour Brett will continue to confound Keith with song snippets in "I Don't Know yet" and then it will be Brett's turn to spin a track from his vinyl collection in "This Is Mine".
In the second hour they will be chatting with Drew about the Australian Flyball Championships, which will be taking place right here in Bendigo the day after the AFL Grand Final - great way to recover from the big day!
The Phatt - booting winter out the window and putting a spring into your step.

Spring is around the corner and in a topical Community Conversation, Brett and Keith welcomed Nicola and Chris from Bike Bendigo on to the show for a chat about who Bike Bendigo is and what they do in terms of advocacy for cycling in and across Greater Bendigo.
Bike Bendigo is a not for profit organisation making it easier to go by bike in Bendigo, and their vision: Bendigo is regional Australia's bicycle capital. Their current activities include joining with Bicycle Network in advocating for permanent funding commitments towards cycling infrastructure, facilitating monthly community bike rides, and other activities around supporting better connections across Greater Bendigo for active communities.
Find out more via their page https://www.facebook.com/BikeBendigo and website https://bikebendigo.com/
They are also encouraging community in Bendigo to provide feedback to the City of Greater Bendigo on walking and cycling improvements at https://letstalkgreaterbendigo.com.au/walking-and-cycling-improvements

Spring is almost in the air and on another Wednesday morning The Phatt were back to do their thing. As well as the usual opening banter, Keith almost got a pass mark during "I Don't Know Yet", picking a relatively obscure track Stuck on You by Paul Norton for a full spin - Brett had a plethora of great tracks for him to have a run at this week! It was also Keith's turn to spin a track during "This Is Mine", pulling out the classic 70's album Stillpoint by Madder Lake and the track Goodbye Lollipop for a play.
In the Community Conversation during the second hour they welcomed Nicola and Chris from Bike Bendigo for a long chat about their work in advocating for improved bike connections across Greater Bendigo.
Other music that got a spin on today's show:
Baby Animals Music - Break My Heart
Phantom Island - Community
Queenie - The Ceiling
Declan Kelly & Emma Donovan - The Dead Heart
Cycad - Tasteless

Ahh Monday, how good is it! Monday's are great because it means that we're only days away form the next thrilling instalment of The Phatt, Bendigo's premium midweek brekkie radio show.
This week Brett and Keith will be doing their usual stuff with "I Don't Know Yet" around 7:30 every week where Brett does his best to test Keith's Oz music knowledge with short snippets of tracks laid out for Keith to try and guess the artist before the song gets fully underway, and then this week just before 8 a.m. Keith gets his chance to spin a track from a record out of his Australian music vinyl collection.
In the Community Conversation 8 a.m. they will be chatting with Nicola and Chris from Bike Bendigo, who engage the local community about, and advocate for, cycling in and around Bendigo. This will be another great chat!
See (hear) you all on Phoenix FM 106.7 from 7 a.m. on Wednesday!
The Phatt - the best thing about 7 a.m. on a chilly Wednesday Bendigo morning.

On a wet late winter morning in Bendigo, The Phatt was back to put some sunshine into your sky and some (almost) spring into your step with their usual banter and bluster.
Keith had a good run at some tricky (and not so tricky) tracks in "I Don't Know Yet" before selecting legendary Australian band The Moodists' song Justice and Money Too for a full spin.
They then dived straight into a phone chat with Reece Hendy from Eaglehawk Festivals Inc. about their theme for next year's Dahlia & Arts Festival, Alien Invasion, and also to chat about their drive to recruit more people to jump on board with their committee to do great stuff in the Borough.
Rounding out the first hour with "This Is Mine", Brett then got to spin the track Fader by The Temper Trap.
Without their expected second hour guest coming in they continued to yak and play music through until the close of the show at 9 a.m.
Another brilliant morning from the guys - giving you the best of midweek mornings here in Bendigo.
Other music they played on this week's show;
Tim Sparrow - Eileen
Faker - Partner in Crime
Celibate Rifles - Groovin' in the Land of Love
Men at Work - It's a Mistake
The Avalanches - Running Red Lights
The Stems - For Always

At The Phatt we're sort of like an all-year round version of Santa's elves, working hard to bring you the best Wednesday morning every week.
This week we will be zipping through not one, but two guests on top of the usual "I Don't Know Yet", where Keith does his best to guess what Australian songs Brett provides snippets of, and also "This Is Mine" where this week Brett gets to spin a track from his vinyl collection.
And what about the guests you ask? Well, late in the first hour they will be chatting with Reece Hendy from Eaglehawk Festivals about next year's Dahlia and Arts Festival's Aliens theme - interesting! And in the second hour the fellas will be staying out Borough way and chatting with Cr. Owen Cosgriff from the City of Greater Bendigo Whipstick ward dropping by for an extended chat.
Wow, what a busy, busy morning it will be this Wednesday from 7 a.m. on Phoenix FM 106.7 - you better not miss it!
The Phatt - the best two hours you can ever spend.

In the Community Conversation this week, The Phatt had a record number of guests in the studio as they were joined by representatives of the organisations partnering in the Bendigo Creek revitalisation project Yaram Yaram Bayikina.
Joining them in the studio were DJAARA representatives Simon Coverdale and Corey Ilsley, North Central CMA's Community and Relationships Manager Sonia Robinson and City of Greater Bendigo Climate Change and Environment Manager Michelle Wyatt, and to add to the challenge they had Andrew Saunders from the advisory group joining in on the phone.
The project involves a lot of coordination and collaboration across all three organisations and it was fantastic to hear about the project and what it will do for an important part of the Bendigo natural environment.
