As the season wraps up, we wanted to share a few voices from the people who make Sailability so special ⛵

To our volunteers, participants, families and supporters — thank you. This program simply doesn’t happen without you.

We’re already looking ahead to next season and would love to welcome new volunteers into the team.

No sailing or disability support experience is needed, and there are flexible ways to get involved.

As the 2025/26 Sailability season comes to a close, we just want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank everyone who has been involved.

A big shout out to our volunteers — your time, care and commitment are what make this program possible. From helping on shore to supporting out on the water, you help create a space that is welcoming, safe and fun for all.

To our participants — thank you for showing up each week with enthusiasm and a willingness to give things a go. It’s been fantastic watching confidence grow and seeing so many great moments out on Lake Weeroona.

To families, carers and supporters — your ongoing encouragement plays a huge role in making this experience what it is.

And to the Bendigo Yacht Club and Cairn Curran Sailing Club — we appreciate your continued support in helping Sailability thrive as an inclusive community program.

It’s been a season full of connection, learning and plenty of smiles on the water. We’re already looking forward to what next season will bring.

A reminder that our last Sailability session for the season is coming up next week at Lake Weeroona—don’t miss out!

Our March session at Lake Weeroona brought people together for another memorable day of connection, activity, and fun by the water.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers — your energy and dedication are what make these days so special each month 💙

We also loved teaming up with Bendigo Rowing Club, who brought along rowing machines and boats for everyone to try, and the fantastic Cycling Without Age Bendigo team for providing relaxing rides around the lake.

A reminder that the next Sailability Bendigo session is coming up next week at Lake Weeroona.

This program provides inclusive sailing opportunities for people with disabilities, developmental differences and neurodivergence, supported by experienced volunteer co-sailors.

To our Sailability Bendigo participants and volunteers,

Unfortunately, with a forecast of 36 degrees this upcoming Wednesday and very low water levels in Lake Weeroona, the decision has been made to cancel the February session of Sailability. We are devasted that we won't be able to see you all, but making sure you are out of the heat and keeping well is our main priority. Cycling Without Age Bendigo will also be keeping cool this Wednesday and will NOT be at the Lake Pavillion for bike rides.

If you have booked and paid for this month's session, a refund will be made back into the account you paid from OR your place will be automatically secured for the next session on March 18th, 2026.

Maggie from Sports Focus should have contacted you directly either by phone call or email - if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call Maggie on 5442 3101.

We apologise for any inconvenience - thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you on the water in March ⛵️

Another beautiful day out on Lake Weeroona yesterday to kick off our first session of 2026. ☀️
A big thank you to all of our volunteers who make this day so special every month - check out those smiles!
And a big thank you to the Bendigo Rowing Club for bringing down some rowing machines and boats for our participants to trial and enjoy! 🚣
And thank you again to the fantastic Cycling Without Age Bendigo team for providing beautiful bike rides around the lake.
