is as the name suggests, a social club which caters mostly for Filipinos in the Bendigo and surrounding areas. Its objectives are to promote harmony within the Filipino Community and to aid in the resettlement of new Filipinos in the area. Our current activities are limited by the fact that our community is relatively small (compared to Melbourne) and also the rigours of modern living however, our
past activities speak for themselves. These were running seminars for our members and other interested parties regarding topics such as In*******al marriages, Parenting, Womens Health, Immigration Law and Problem Gambling. These seminars were recieved very well and were helped in running these seminars with funding from the Multicultural Commission. Our Membership is made up from a variety of walks of life but we believe that it doesnt matter what side of the street you come from, everyone is made very welcome to our organization. We have just celebrated our 21st anniversary and are pleased that we have reached this milestone. One of our founding members is our current Secretary Chirly Innes who along with her sister Susan Cazar and Lita Nagy shared a vision which has grown and withstood the passage of time. Personally, I have been President for around 9 years and am very pleased to serve this community to the best of my ability. I also have strong ties with the FFCCVI and am also on the Board Director of PAFI. These connections have enabled us to make our Melbourne Colleagues more aware of us up here in Central Victoria. I urge people up here in Bendigo and Central Victoria to become more involved with our community so we can make the General Public more aware of the Filipino Culture and the warm and friendly nature that typifies Filipinos around the world.
