Good move for our wildlife.
In Nillumbik, we love our wildlife and we love our cats. For the protection of wildlife and the safety of cats, 24/7 cat confinement is now in place.
This means pet owners must now keep their cats on their property at all times unless they’re securely confined (for example, in a cat carrier or on a leash). Cats can still enjoy outdoor time within the property boundaries.
🐈📆 We know this is a big change for some owners and their cats. That’s why we’re giving everyone time to adjust, with a transition period in place until October 2027.
Over the next two years, we'll be focussing on support and education. We’ll be sharing lots of tips and guidance on how to create a safe, enriching, happy home for your cats.
