The teasels and the honesty seeds are looking just like this right now and I'm trying to spread them around the garden in the hope of a better garden year next year.
My other plan is to start burying food compost containers (full of drainage holes) into the borders to help provide nutrients. And if it's as hot, places to add moisture. Like little oasis's around the garden.
In fact with so many plants now 'gone over', yesterday was a big seed collecting day and I'm sowing some, sprinkling some, freezing some. I think that growing plants is like one huge experiment and I love it. And like all experiments, some fail and from that, we learn.

I really don't want to write this but feel I need to.
If you are a fellow artist, particularly a new artist and you are quietly going through my older compositions, putting your own twist on them and passing them off as your own, please stop.
It's really demoralising. Unfair. And even with your 'twist', it's copying. You've taken all my research, my experiments, my failures and jumped straight to my successes.
So far it's always been women. And that's even more disappointing. We women should be supporting each other, not making it harder for one another. And what you are doing makes it harder for me to keep going (financially and emotionally).
If, at this point, you feel like defending these people, please let me assure you that imitation (copying) is not the sincerest form of flattering when it's your living. Especially when they are passing ideas off as their own and getting their income from it.
I'm not talking about 'similar'. I'm talking about copying whole compositions. It's obvious, it's lazy, it's unimaginative and it's upsetting.
And I can't support my family, my donkeys when you do this.
Want inspiration? Go for a walk, read, watch wildlife films so you too can soak up the joy of these creatures. And the ideas will come for you too. I promise. And you'll feel all the more joy in your work if you do.
Again, sorry, I didn't want to write this. But it's so upsetting.
