ONE WEEK AWAY!
Dorrigo Families, bring the kids next Thursday to playgroup (June 11th) at *NEW VENUE* the Dorrigo Community Hall on Hickory Street. Starting at 10:30am, we will have some special sensory play activities (rainbow rice, pasta necklaces & playdough), plus our most beloved jumping castle & more. The ladies from Parent Pathways & Northcott will also be there to share info on the supports they can offer Dorrigo families (see below!)

NORTHCOTT provides early childhood intervention and disability support services for children aged 0-9 years who may have developmental delays, autism, disability or developmental concerns. Their team works closely with parents and carers to help children build communication, social, emotional and everyday life skills through therapies, developmental assessments, and practical early supports

PARENT PATHWAYS is a free, voluntary program that supports parents and carers of children under 6 with parenting, study, work and personal goals. Families are matched with a mentor who can help build confidence, connect them with childcare, training, local services and community supports, and provide practical assistance such as help with courses, licences, computers or transport-related costs.

See you there!

All women and children have a right to live a life free from violence, coercive control and abuse. However in Australia,1 in 3 women experience physical or sexual violence, or both, perpetrated by someone they know. That is a very glum and sobering statistic. Coercive control, when someone repeatedly hurts, scares or isolates another person to control them, is now also recognised in NSW as a criminal offence. It is domestic abuse and it can cause serious harm to women and children. Domestic and family violence doesn't usually end until action is taken to stop it. In fact, it often escalates. One woman every week dies of intimate partner violence in Australia.
Please look out for one another, family, friends, community. One private conversation could change so much for a family. If you want to help someone in a domestic violence situation, here are two numbers you can call for confidential support.

NSW Domestic Violence Line - Call 1800 65 64 63
