ESDC would like to thank all those who made our Agility trials on the weekend a success.

Many thanks to our terrific judge, Darren Wallace, from Victoria. It’s the first time Darren has judged for our club and we loved his courses, his support of all the competitors and his fantastic, friendly good humour.

Thanks also to everyone who entered. We had a good field of competitors and feel as if numbers in this engaging sport are slowly on the rise. It was great to see the numbers growing in the Novice classes. Thanks also to everybody for pitching in with course changes and bar height changes.

Major thanks also to our ESDC club members who worked tirelessly throughout the day in various roles. We can only run these types of events with the support of our club members and they certainly supported us wholeheartedly on the weekend.

And last, but certainly not least, congratulations to all those who gained qualifying passes and trial ribbons in their events. Pictures below of these people. But in the long run, everyone who participated took the best dog home.

Special post for Rally lovers and interested newbies🥳🥰🐾

Due to a resurgence of interest in Rally, and recent excellent trial results at Hobart Rally trials on the Domain, we are extending our booking spots.

We are introducing an intermediate class which will support people who are beyond Novice level but still not up to Excellent/Masters. Being off leash is a big jump for most people once they pass Novice, so the new class will focus on working off leash, learning Advanced signs(and some Excellent signs as well) and consolidating Novice learning. Overview of how this will all operate below. Rally courses will all have 6 spots to book and all three will start with booking spots from 9am.

Rally Novice
Brenda will continue as instructor and the class will be set up on the middle ground near the trees at the end. Brenda will also move people up once she feels they are ready to do more - or if they gain a Novice title or pass three gradings.

Advanced Rally
Maree and Debbie M have opted to share this group. It will be set up in the Vulnerable Dog area.
These courses will teach Advanced and some Excellent signs. It will be available for people grading/trialling in these levels. People grading, but not trialling or working towards trialling, will book spots at this level.

Masters/trialling Rally.
Wendy will continue to run this class in the greyhound area. To be eligible for this class you must be trialling at either Excellent or Masters level. If you are a non-trialler at Masters level you will only be able to book a spot if they are not taken by people trialling

The new set up will commence on 2nd August. For anyone who has booked in the higher class I will reschedule your booking for you.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment on this post or to message the club. We appreciate that there might be times when all spaces are taken. If you can’t book in message the club to request a waiting spot.
