We are a group of people who come together to share our love of beautiful handmade pieces. Our interests are diverse: patchwork, quilting, beading, knitting, tapestry, embroidery, crochet and more. The meeting times each month are:
• the second Tuesday (9.00 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Our meetings are casual, and of course, noisy, because we are there to learn from each other and to swap ideas, techniques a

nd experiences. Our workshops are taught mainly by local members and occasionally by visiting tutors, and cover a variety of styles and skills relevant to the hand work interests of our members. New members are always welcome and the only prerequisite is a love of fabric and thread, and an appreciation of handmade items. Beginners are especially welcome and will find themselves in an atmosphere where help is friendly and readily available. We had a wonderful biggest morning tea at Quilting last week. Our raffle consisted of a beautiful basket of fabrics cotton bits and bobs. We’re very fortunate Bunnings gave us a $50 voucher for the day and we had a litre of honey donated by one of our ladies.We raised money for cancer. We had a lovely morning tea. And a lovely display of quilts and products from our ladies. Next meeting is next Tuesday 9 till 1 pm.
Will be our next meeting we hope to see you all there. We’d love to see new faces too.

A warm welcome is extended to join us at our
Biggest Morning Tea
26th of May 2026
starting at
10.30am.
Bellbird Community Hall.
Please feel free to bring your friends, family neighbours to come as it will be an open day.

All proceeds will go to fight cancer.

There will be a raffle on the day.
$1.00 a ticket.

We will also have on display quilts from our members.

Tickets will also be available on the day for our ‘Anniversary Quilt’ that will be raffled in September proceeds from this quote raffle will be going to Cessnock Rescue.

We welcome new members to our group and share your and our knowledge.

Another great day amongst friends at Cessnock Quilters and Embroiderers. Our 'show and tell' this week featured a beautiful array of quilts from a few of the ladies in our group. We are very blessed to have so many talented women among us. Quilts showcased included a lace quilt from Anne, a wall hanging from Robyn, a swimming fish quilt made by Julie, and Katie displayed her finished jacket from one of our workshops last year and her little knitted toy. We also displayed our finished quilt for our 40th Anniversary raffle, with proceeds going towards Cessnock Rescue. Tickets for this beautiful quilt, compiled by women in our group, will go on sale at our Biggest Morning Tea.
Our quilt will be on display, along with other quilts made by the ladies, for you to view while enjoying your time with us. Please mark your diaries for May 26th at Bellbird Community Hall. Starting at 10:30, we will also have another raffle with proceeds going to the Cancer Council. If you'd like to support our Biggest Morning Tea, wonderful ladies will be providing morning tea, so please come along. If you'd like to contribute to the day, please contact us.

A wonderful day was had at Bellbird Community Hall on Tuesday at our monthly meeting. Wonderful works again were shown by our very clever ladies who had completed some projects and also workshop demonstration blocks.
Katie once again showed us eight new sets for Premier babies if anybody has any 4 ply wool Katie would make great use of it.
Noelene made some beautiful baby blankets for future grandchildren.
Karen showed us some weaving she had created.
And a quilt she had been making.
Crochet blanket from Rhonda.
An Australian day wreath made out of hexagons from an altered shirt.
Patchwork cushion & star block from the workshop.
Joanne showed the many blocks she has been working on.
Monica showed her yellow star block.
We also worked on the quilt layout for our Anniversary Quilt.
Next meeting day 12th May come and join in the fun of doing what you love.

Seniors Festival was celebrated by Cessnock Quilters and Embroiderers Inc. on Tuesday 10th March 2026. A delicious Morning tea and was shared by all who attended.
Beautiful work was presented by our ladies and a beautiful display It was too.
We had seven ladies who attended our day five from Calvary and two people that had seen it advertised in the Seniors Festival brochure.
I had a couple of calls from ladies that might come along to our group.
Don’t forget to invite your friends to come along to our meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
There is always, great friendships to be made along with workshops, and knowledge we’d love to share.
Looking forward to seeing you there. 24th March “sit and sew”our workshop will be a star block so bring along some coloured fat quarters and a plain fabric.

Ladies, to let you all know that former long time member of our Cessnock Quilters and Embroiderers Inc., Mary Anderson, has died. Mary was a much loved member, and every item that she created, or worked on, was beautiful.
