Come along to our Morning Tea in the Garden and discover the new Scullin Community Garden! ☕🌱
Enjoy a relaxed morning, explore the garden, meet local community members and share your ideas for what we could grow together. There’ll also be activities for children, so everyone can join in!

Looking for simple ways to make healthy eating more fun for your little ones? 💚

National Nutrition Week is a great reminder that positive food experiences start with the little things we do every day. Getting children involved in choosing, preparing and exploring food can help build healthy habits that last a lifetime.

✨ Here are 4 fun ideas to try at home:
🍓 Make it colourful: Create a rainbow plate with different fruits and vegetables.
👩‍🍳 Get cooking together: Let little hands wash vegetables, mash avocado or mix ingredients.
🌱 Grow something green: Plant herbs or cherry tomatoes and let children discover where their food comes from.

📚 Read and explore: Share food-themed books to spark curiosity and make learning about food fun.
Remember, it’s all about creating positive experiences, exploring new foods and enjoying the journey together. There's no pressure to try everything at once!

What a fantastic day we had at the Belconnen Community Centre Open Day yesterday! It was lovely to welcome so many people, see familiar faces and meet new ones.

A big thank you to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make it happen, including our dedicated staff, facilitators and volunteers. And, of course, thank you to everyone who came along, explored our programs and activities, and helped make the day so special!
At CRCS, we love bringing people together and creating opportunities for everyone to connect, learn and get involved in their community.

🥕 Celebrating National Nutrition Week! 🍎
Good nutrition plays an important role in children’s growth, development and wellbeing — and at our Early Education Centres, food is also an opportunity to learn, explore and build positive relationships with food.

Across our centres, children are supported to enjoy nutritious meals and snacks, with food experiences that consider different cultural tastes and dietary needs.

Children are also encouraged to take part in simple food preparation experiences, helping them develop independence, practical life skills and confidence around food.

Mealtimes are an opportunity for children to listen to their hunger cues, make choices and enjoy relaxed, social experiences with their peers and educators.

Because healthy eating is about more than what’s on the plate. 💚 It’s about helping children build positive relationships with food and develop healthy habits from the very beginning.
