The Bega Valley Firew**d Association started many years ago and resolved to explore the options for biological control to help landowners manage this very difficult w**d. Unfortunately it now appears that this avenue is no longer available to us. The potential biological control agents are likely to impact the native scenecio species as well as the introduced Firew**d.
A lot of time and effort has been expended to get to this stage and unfortunately it is not the outcome we were hoping for.
I will attempt to attach the recent correspondence received from The CSIRO.
Steps will now be taken to close down our website.
Going forward landholders will need to use existing management tools to help contain this w**d.
