It is suitable for small producers, primarily supplying local or regional markets. It is an independent brand that relies on the integrity of member producers. SCPA Organics can help you to meet organic standard
s and gain organic certification. It is a participatory guarantee system where members undertake annual inspections of other members’ properties. This reduces the cost of certification while helping members to broaden their understanding of organic production. Certification can be achieved in 3 years and requires:
an initial inspection report,
preparation, implementation and maintenance of an Organic Management Plan for the land and products to be certified, and
the annual preparation of documentation showing the source of materials used on the property. Members meet to share information, plan inspections and review inspection reports.
