Bega Men's Shed

Bega Men's Shed The Bega Men’s Shed is a community organisation dedicated to the health and welfare of its members.

"The Bega Men’s Shed is a community organisation dedicated to the health and welfare of its members. It provides a safe environment with an atmosphere of old-fashioned mateship and, importantly, there is no pressure. Members come from all walks of life – the bond that unites them is that they have time on their hands and would like something meaningful to do with that time. Our men's shed is open

twice a week and members can have a yarn and a cuppa, work on community projects, specific Men’s Shed projects or a project of their choice. The only ‘must’ is to observe safe working practices, all in a spirit of mateship."

Members of Bega Men's Shed discuss how to get the best value from these rough sawn hardwood slabs that have been seasoning for three years. In coming months you may see some of them turned into beautifully dressed side or coffee tables.
Men in the Bega area who want to meet other men and perhaps learn new skills are welcome to call the Bega Men's Shed on 02 6100 4480 to find out more about the benefits of becoming a member of a men's shed.

Finishing touches being applied to a leadlight window that will be installed by the member at his home.
This was the member's first attempt at leadlighting. He was guided by another member who was happy to spend time passing on his knowledge. The result was a great success.
You could also learn new skills by becoming a member of the Bega Men's Shed. Call 02 6100 4480 to find out more about the benefits of becoming a member of a men's shed.

A new member's first project was to restore an old chair. It was resprung, recovered, painted and now sits pride of place in his home. The Bega Men's Shed has members with a wide variety of skills, including upholstery. Those skills, amongst others, contributed to support the member's own skills to successfully complete the project. This is a good example of men working together to share their knowledge whilst enjoying the company of other men. If you're looking for a place to just chat with other men, or want to work on personal or community projects then you're welcome to contact the Shed on 02 6100 4480 to find out more or to arrange a visit to the Bega Men's Shed on a Tuesday or Thursday morning.

Community Spirit Supports Bega Men's Shed!

Check out this photo featuring Glenn Ford (L), Rob Flynn (C), and our President, Eric Myers (R), standing by our newly donated heavy-duty table saw!

The Bega Men's Shed is grateful to Rob Flynn from Bega Valley Realty. When a property he sold in Candelo had a table saw and a linisher that the new owner was happy to donate, Rob immediately thought of our Shed.

Rob then arranged for his mate Glenn Ford to kindly deliver both machines from Candelo to the Bega Men's Shed. What a fantastic and generous gesture!

To show our appreciation for their thoughtfulness, we invited Rob and Glenn to one of our regular Shed BBQs. Donations like these help the Bega Men's Shed to continue our projects that support the Bega community. Thanks again, Rob and Glenn!

If you're interested in finding out more about joining the Bega Men's Shed, you're welcome to call us on (02) 6100 4480.

The Rabbi_of_resin put on a fabulous masterclass for Bega Men's Shed members, who learnt a great deal about using resin in furniture and other items. The Rabbi was very generous with his time, passing on many tips and tricks. Thanks Phil.

Members of the Bega Men's Shed and friends had a relaxing day trip to Mallacoota. We enjoyed a lake and river cruise for a few hours with wildlife spotting and light hearted banter on the M.V. Loch-Ard with Captain Dale Winward from Mallacoota Cruises. We also enjoyed a BBQ at Captain Stevenson's Point.
