Bega Lions Club and the Bega Pathfinders Club came together today for Clean Up Australia Day 2025. With numbers bolstered by the Pathfinders, we were able to cover a broad area from the Lions Shed along Ravenswood Street, around Kisses Lagoon, bypass roundabout, Valley Fields, netball courts and Bega Primary to the river. Several sacks of rubbish were collected along with several shopping trolleys and other interesting items. Thanks to the Pathfinders and everyone else that volunteered to help keep our town beautiful.

Bega Lions will be up bright and early on Sunday morning, making sure breakfast is ready for you to enjoy at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre. Come on down and get Australia Day started with a free egg and bacon roll, tea, coffee or juice. Everyone welcome!

We invite the shire’s residents to our Australia Day celebrations on Sunday 26 January with a free breakfast at 7.30am in the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre in Bega.

At 8.30am, we will recognise and celebrate the achievements of our 2025 Citizens of the Year and Bega Valley Medallion winners, and welcome our newest Australians.

What a great way to conclude our year, with the Bega Show Christmas Parade! Well done to the Bega Show Society for organising it, and to all the impressive entries, both truck and tractor. There were numerous happy children and adults around town. It was a pleasure to be involved in the night. Thanks to all that supported the Bega Lions Club BBQ!

Bega Locals may have seen activity in Carp Street last night or woke this morning to see the shops in Bega adorned with Christmas decorations 🎅⛄
This would not have happened without the generosity and community spirit of local builder Glynn Lucas. Glynn contacted us a few days ago and offered his time to help put up the Christmas decorations, making it a reality last night.
Bega Lions Club would like to thank Glynn, Matty and Ky for their service to us and the Community, it is much appreciated!

We generally post about work and events involving Bega Lions in the community. We couldn't support the community without our volunteers' dedication. Thus, we'd like to honor two members who recently achieved significant milestones. Stewart Tyrrell has completed 40 years, and Malcolm Southwell has completed 10 years. We were fortunate to have District Governor Ann Reed present Stewart with his 40-year chevron and Zone Chairperson Lyn Matthews present Mal with his 10-year chevron.

Bega Lions were delighted to provide a BBQ lunch for a hungry group of volunteers, busily planting trees at the Community Tree Planting day on Saturday 26th October, along East Street. Well done to all involved 🙂
