Completed!!!
Funded by a Community Environment Grant, the Friends of Glebe Wetlands project to revegetate the East Street Rd embankment consisted of the absolutely epic removal of many invasive w**ds, and general dumped rubbish, then a massive mulching job and the planting of selected native tubestock, protected with guards and stakes.
This was done all along the embankment on either side of the creek, effectively transforming a former w**d infested dump zone into what will become valuable habitat for native wildlife as well as an attractive amenity for the local area.
Much gratitude for all our volunteered participants in achieving this long awaited outcome and to the amazing Hugh Pitty for once again steerheading another invaluable project and championing our vulnerable and threatened native wildlife and flying foxes.
Hopefully, all our good work to revegetate the East Street road embankment will be rewarded with a new Community Environment Grant (application was submitted on 31st May) to enable us to get some valuable assistance as we continue our ongoing work to enhance the habitat for wildlife at the Glebe Wetlands.
THank you to everyone who made this possible!🙏🦇🦋🦉🦆🕷🐢🐍🦎🐝🪱🐦🐸🦜🐾🌿🌱🌳🪺🪹🍄🌏💚💚
