CWA in the NT does welcome young women as members.

We have women with diverse skills, it’s not compulsory to be crafty or to be able to make scones.

Our older members have much to share and were younger women when they joined this wonderful community organisation.

More young women are joining the Country Women's Association's city branches, with a passion for jams and scones along with social connection and purpose.

Today is World Soil Day – highlighting the importance of soil in our global systems, and the impacts that climate change is having on these natural resources.

In marking World Soil Day, it is also vital that we draw attention to the gender-based violence and consequences that climate change is exacerbating around the world – and what

Severe human-induced changes in our climate are creating unpredictable weather circumstances that are straining infrastructure and agricultural systems, particularly impacting rural communities. These strains are making it increasingly difficult to safely secure resources and generate income, arising tensions that exacerbate the harmful inequalities that women are already facing.

Research shows that in the aftermath of climate-change-induced disasters, women and girls face an increased risk of gender-based violence. As climate change continues to rapidly impact the world, the gender-climate issues that continue to arise must not go unnoticed.

ACWW advocates for rural women globally through funding grassroots, community-led projects, building capacity through international events, and bringing advocacy and rural women’s voices to the table in global decision-making. This is vital work, and you can help take it forward by donating to our World President’s Appeal at:
