🏊‍♂️ Training with a swim buoy keeps you safe and visible in open water.
The bright high-visibility colour makes it much easier for boats, paddlers and other swimmers to spot you, adding an extra layer of safety during our Friday ocean swim session.
It’s a simple step that helps protect both you and your fellow members, and is strongly recommended by the committee.
Stay safe, be seen, and enjoy the swim 🌊

BE SAFE AND VISIBLE - High visibility, bright and contrast assessed 'Furnace Orange' buoy for swimming training ensures you are as visible as possible in the open water. Reflective elements provide added visibility for increased safety in open water for all conditions and seasons. KEEP YOUR BELONGIN...

Another few weeks for the club with strong racing performances, great participation at training sessions, and fantastic volunteer support. It’s great to see the club colours well represented across a variety of events and distances. 🏊🚴🏃

Trail Running – Well done to Swen & Kim for representing the club on the trails.

Noosa Ultra Trail – Congratulations to Lindsay 👍 on completing the challenging 30km event – a strong endurance effort.

Training sessions continue to attract strong numbers across swim, bike and run groups. It’s great to see members supporting each other, whether preparing for upcoming races or building fitness towards longer-term goals.

MOO TRI – The Big Day! 🐄🏊🚴🏃
Race day is here and the crew is ready! A big effort from the team this morning getting everything set up. The BBQ is fired up, the sausages are sizzling, and the atmosphere is building nicely. 🌭🔥
If you're around, pop in, say hi 👋 and cheer on the athletes as they swim, ride and run their way through the day.
Good luck to everyone racing today — have a great one and enjoy the Moo! 💪😄

President’s Report

What a fantastic start to the year!
The race calendar is filling quickly, goals are being set, and the motivation across the club is buzzing. It’s brilliant to see so many members back into consistent training and already lining up events for 2026.

A big, warm welcome to our new members; Adam, Phil, Antonia, Sean and Will. We’re thrilled to have you join the club and look forward to seeing you out on the roads and in the water.

The Buderim9 was a terrific club day out. It’s never an easy course, but our members tackled it with determination (and plenty of smiles). Great representation and great spirit all round.

The latest Scody club gear order has been a huge success. There’s nothing better than seeing a sea of club colours at training and races — we’re looking sharp and professional out there!

Our weekly training sessions continue to build great momentum:
- Strong numbers on the Sunday rides.
- Quality efforts at Tuesday and Thursday runs.
- Consistent turnout at Friday swims.
The commitment across swim, bike and run is impressive — and the support within the group makes it even better.

We’ve already had some fantastic achievements worth celebrating:
🏆 Mark stormed to victory at the Queensland State Sprint Triathlon Championships (Clydesdale) in Robina — an outstanding performance and a proud moment for the club.
🎉 Raquel reached an amazing milestone with her 100th parkrun — what dedication!
👏 Great news that Ron’s Noosa disqualification has been officially reversed.

The year is only just getting started, and the enthusiasm around the club is contagious. Let’s keep supporting each other, chasing those goals, and enjoying the journey.
See you at training!

Sunshine Coast Triathlon Club – Buderim9 2026 💪⛰️
An early start and a tough course saw 7 brave racers🚵‍♂️ take on the Buderim9 challenge. Plenty of climbing, plenty of grit, and determination along the way as the mountains were well and truly conquered (sort of 🤔).
The reward? A well-earned, very yummy breakfast and the satisfaction of another solid club effort done right.
✋️Great way to kick off 2026! 🥓🍳🍉

Taking a quick look back at 2025…
Strava says we trained a lot (and Strava never lies). Sunday social rides, Tuesday run club, the new Thursday runs and Friday ocean swims were all well attended — with coffee and post-session drinks clearly forming an essential part of the training plan ☕🍻
We racked up some pretty epic achievements: plenty of racing and podiums, a world champ on the 1-hour indoor track, a world-champ Olympic-distance triathlon, full Ironmans, and marathon finishers who are still talking about it.
We also celebrated 35 years of the club, ran our grant program for the second year in a row, donated $1,000 to paratriathletes, rolled out new swim & run caps, and survived a very fun Christmas get-together🎄.
With nearly 60 members, we’re also financially solid — proof that coffee bills haven’t broken us yet.
As incoming president, a massive thanks to Janelle for steering the ship over the past three years, and to all committee members who keep the wheels turning while the rest of us just turn up and train.
Bring on 2026 — more miles, more laughs, and definitely more coffee.
