Tourism North East is pleased to announce the launch of High Country at Home, a dedicated digital marketplace designed to connect supporters across Australia with the resilient makers, growers, and tourism operators of our fire-affected regions.
Following a challenging start to 2026 for our local communities, High Country at Home serves as a virtual front door to the region. The platform allows fans of the High Country to lend their support directly to small businesses by purchasing locally made products, farm-fresh produce, boutique wines, beers and spirits or by booking future stays and experiences.
How tourism businesses can get involved:
1. Ensure your ATDW listings and e-commerce links are up to date.
2. Share campaign messaging through your channels and post about your e-commerce store or digital gift vouchers on social media, tagging and using the hashtag
3. Align communications with current safety advice
4. Encourage guests to reschedule rather than cancel where possible. Forward bookings, even later in the year, can provide important certainty during this period.
Tourism North East’s priority, alongside emergency services and government, remains a safety-first approach for residents, visitors and responders. At the same time, we know the economic impact on tourism operators, producers and small businesses is significant.
High Country at Home is the first phase of Tourism North East’s bushfire response. Planning is underway for a broader regional recovery campaign under the Victoria’s High Country masterbrand, to be delivered when conditions allow.
