☘️Lammas Picnic ☘️

🕰️ Time: 12:00 PM

All are welcome to bring food, but please label things to accommodate for food allergies.

Lammas is the midway point between Litha (summer solstice) and Mabon (autumn equinox), celebrating the first harvests of grain.

Baked goods or other snacks that are made from grain would be amazing to bring! We will have some gluten free things too 🌾

🌿 What is Heathenry? 🌿

Heathenry, is a modern spiritual path that draws from pre-Christian beliefs and practices from the Germanic peoples of Northern Europe.

Often termed “reconstructionist," Heathenry is about more than simply replicating the past-it's about adapting historical understandings to fit our 21st-century lives.

This ancient path celebrates personal honor, community, and connection to the land. Whether through ritual, storytelling, or honouring the changing seasons, Heathens embrace the old ways in a modern world with the worship of gods like Odin, Thor, Tyr, and Freyja.

Paganism is a vast and diverse collection of spiritual paths that connect us to nature, beliefs, and traditions. It spans far with practices like Heathenry or Wicca—it encompasses beliefs from around the world, rooted in pre-Christian and indigenous cultures. From ancient Rome to Celtic lands, to Norse sagas and beyond. As Paganism is so vast, one social media post couldn’t capture but this is our try at compressing.

Paganism isn’t just one tradition or belief but a tapestry of spiritual paths that honour the nature and the spiritual world around us, and each person’s unique journey.

✨ Whether it’s through celebrating solstices, working with magic, or connecting with deities, paganism embraces a rich history that continues to evolve.

🌿✨ Imbolc Recap! ✨🌿

On August 1st, members gathered at Oasis on Bedford Park Campus, to celebrate Imbolc and welcome the beginning of Spring.

The evening began with a peaceful forest walk that was great time to reflect; followed by a delightful shared plate feast with a circle of gratitude and tarot reading.

We had an alter with candles symbolise the new season (we didn’t due lot the candles due to fire safety guidelines).

The event was a wonderful time to come together and celebrate the season.

The Sacred Grove Society’s role as advocator for pagans, witches, left-handed practitioners, and other members’ beliefs and practices on campus and beyond.

We advocate for the recognition and respect of alternative belief systems within the university and society by raising awareness about misconceptions and stereotypes.

Previously Flinders uni used to have a Pagan club back in the late 90s to 2000s that made progress in advocacy for its members such as the clubs success for a multifaith chaplains on campus with Flinders having a Pagan chaplain throughout the 2000s.

We want to disseminate factual information about beliefs and paths of our members’ beliefs.

We promote diversity, tolerance, and understanding of not only of different spiritual beliefs and practices within the university and beyond, but also respect for all and promote diversity.

We are a club to that celebrates diversity and inclusion, being a safe space for students to explore and/or their beliefs and spirituality.
