Great to welcome a good friend of Riverton Scout Group last week, Ron Sao MLA, Member for Cannington.

Ron committed $15,000 towards the purchase of a new trailer, which was delivered at the end of last year. He popped over last week to have a look at it in person.

The trailer has been built to our specifications and offers heaps more space to carry equipment. A big thank you to our Committee for their hard work in getting everything just right.

I have no doubt this trailer will serve the group well for many years to come.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to Khush, manager at IGA Lynwood for supporting Riverton Venturers’ trip to the Karijini by donating a heap of supplies.

It is not the first time that Khush has helped us out for a large camp and we are very grateful for his support.

Supported by a grant from the Dick and Pip Smith Leadership Through Adventure Fund eight Riverton Venturers recently completed a fanastic trip to the Karijini National Park.

Over six days the Venturers had an amazing time trekking through the gorges, swimming in the pools and hiking up the second tallest peak in WA. They even had time to catch up with their fellow Scouts at Newman Scout Group.

We had a big night last night at Riverton WA Scout Group with Meet a Random Venturer II.

We had 43 randoms (28 Venturers, 15 Leaders) from lots of different groups. Including from Riverton, Willetton, Atwell, Bibra Lake, Liddelow, Minnawara, Salter Point, Rockingham, Bull Creek Leeming, Waylon Bay and Bateman Winthrop.

As well as being a great opportunity for leaders and Venturers to catch up, we had games, some catapults, pizzas and an update on some of the exciting opportunities for Venturers happening this year.

A big thanks to everyone who came to make it a really fun night!
