This year’s Reconciliation Week 2026 theme is β€˜All In’. This is a time for everyone to be actively involved and committed to reconciliation and strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non Indigenous peoples.

At headspace Cannington, we acknowledge traditional custodians on the land that we are situated on - Whadjuk Noongar Boodja and are committed to ensuring our services are culturally appropriate and safe for First Nation young peoples.

Always was, Always will be. πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

Swipe through to see all about our recent Hiking and Picnic Event at Lesmurdie Falls with Uncle Neville Collard, who shared with us cultural knowledge of the naming of Kalamunda, local native plants and animals! πŸ₯ΎπŸŒΏ

Massive thank you to for guiding our hike! The views were amazing πŸŒ³πŸƒπŸ™Œ

We celebrate IDAHOBIT Day and stand with the LGBTIQA+SB community against discrimination, calling for safety, belonging and respect πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

πŸ§‹Be You, Be Seen: At Spill the Tea we unpacked our identities and had some deep conversations about what we enjoy, our values, and experiences of discrimination

πŸ™Œ At .vale.college we had some awesome responses from students about what Pride or IDAHOBIT means to them - feeling safe, acceptance and confidence

πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ Plus some extra shots of recent events - self-defence and Bentley Youth Yarns

We ask allies to help speak up and call out negative comments, views and treatment of q***r and gender πŸ—£οΈ diverse people πŸ—£οΈ

You are welcome at headspace Cannington and we value your different backgrounds, identities, experiences and perspectives 😊

We acknowledge there have been a lot of distressing events affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities

At ANZAC Day Services, Elders were booed by some of the crowd when delivering a Welcome to Country, a significant act of reconciliation and grace. We do not support this disrespectful behaviour and stand against racism and with:
πŸ–€ Aunty Di Ryder - Whadjuk Noongar Elder and veteran
πŸ’› Uncle Mark Brown - Bunurong and Gunditjmarra Elder (Naarm/Melbourne)
❀️ Uncle Ray Minniecon - Kabi Kabi, Goreng Goreng and Ambrym Island Elder, veteran and pastor

Happy Harmony Day! 🧑 We’ve been busy painting with young people at Clontarf Aboriginal College and Southern Grove Primary School - swipe to see some beautiful art 🎨πŸͺ¨πŸ–ΌοΈ

Everyone belongs here and we celebrate you πŸŽ‰πŸ«Ά

This year Harmony Day comes at a time when it’s urgent to keep tackling racism and discrimination ✊🏾 Here are some things you can do to support:
🟠 Start conversations about culture and inclusion
🟠 Think about your culture - what have you been taught to value?
🟠 Share foods, traditions, stories with people from different backgrounds
🟠 Be open to new experiences and learning from mistakes

We value cultural diversity and the different points of view and experiences our community brings πŸ™Œ
