🤺 School Holiday Fencing at All Saints College

We had a fantastic time at the All Saints' College School Holiday Program in July!

It was great to see so many kids getting involved, learning the fundamentals of fencing and enjoying the challenge of trying something new. ⚔️

A big thank you to All Saints College for having us and to everyone who joined in and made it such a fun and positive session. And a big thank you as well to Xavi, Rebecca and Pat for coordinating this event.

We look forward to seeing more young fencers on the piste! 🤺

5 Week Beginner Fencing Program 🤺🤺✨

Starting this weekend, we have our 5 Week Fencing Program happening for Term 3! The schedule below as follows:

Kids Beginner Sessions:
➡️Saturday 24 July 2026 2:30pm

Adult Beginner Sessions:
➡️Tuesday 28 July 2026 7:00pm

The programme costs $100 for all five sessions, and all fencing equipment is provided. You'll also receive a discount on your membership when you complete the programme.

We had a fantastic day at the club with our second Junior Jabbers Event! 🤺 It was amazing to have fencers from across Excalibur Fencing Club UWA Fencing Club JSA Fencing Academy and Cavalier School of Fencing competing in a fun and friendly environment.

The event ended up consisting with 8 in foil, 9 in epee and 8 sabre aged from 6 through to 14 years old. The objective of the day was to challenge our fencers in a friendly competitive environment, with one pool for each event and a full repechage for placings; plenty of bouts were had by all! 🙌

Thanks so much to everyone who helped out today in setting up, refereeing, coaching and packing-up. Special thank you to Scotty and Jude from UWA who helped out with the refereeing. Also thanks to the parents, family and friends who came down to watch. Having a big crowd brought a great atmosphere to the day. We're looking forward to the next one! 🏆

❗️ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS❗️

On Monday Excalibur fencer Alex Brown continued the fight in New Delhi, representing Australia in the Men's Sabre Teams. Drawing a tough opponent in the host nation India, Australia won a hard fought victory 45-42 earning a position in the top-8.

While they didn't succeed in the following quarter-final against Japan and placement bouts against Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia, the final position of 8th place is the first time Australia finished in the top-8 in 15+ years!

👏👏👏Outstanding International Result👏👏👏

Yesterday Excalibur Club Captain and Coach Alex Brown represented Australia at the 2026 Senior Asian Fencing Championships. He achieved an incredible five victories in pools, only losing to the reigning Olympic Champion Oh Sanguk with a respectable two points against him.

Ranked 14th going into the eliminations, Alex had a tidy 15-7 win in the T64 before eventually bowing out 15-13 in the T32 against the reigning South-East Asian Games Champion. From these results Alex achieved an outstanding 20th overall, an FIE A-Grade personal best. This result also returns Alex to being the no.1 men's sabre fencer in the Australian Rankings and within the top-200 in the world. Congratulations Alex! 🩷🤺

He and rest of the Australian continent will fence next in the Teams event on Monday.

Starting this Saturday (30 May) is our 5-Week Kids Beginner Program

Come down for your free first session this Saturday at 1 pm. Suitable for kids who are aged 6 - 16 years old. The first session of our new 5-week program is 30 May. The remainder of the program is $100. All equipment included!
