Yesterday was a wonderful creative day as 12 ladies gathered under the expert lead of Melanie our local community member.

Sun hats were made, morning tea enjoyed and the hum of 12 sewing machines rippled through the neighbourhood house.

We look forward to seeing the hats out and about in our local community this summer.

We are grateful for Melanies supportive tuition and look forward to hosting the next creative day in September. Sewing is on every Friday from 10am.

Today’s rose planting in memory of Sandra was a wonderful success. Although the rain came down, it certainly could not dampen the mood, the love shared, or the many beautiful memories of Sandra.

A heartfelt thank you to all the family and friends who attended and helped make the day so special. It was lovely to see everyone come together to honour Sandra’s memory. Thank you also for the amazing food and generosity that added so much warmth to the occasion.

Sandra will always be remembered with love.

Family Law is a HUGE area and increasingly complex so in the one-hour session we will cover the following four topics:

• Parental Responsibility
• Best Interest Principles
• Options for arrangements and of course
• Common Questions.

The talk will NOT cover
• Child protection
• Criminal Offences or
• Child Support.
• Property matters

Due to sensitivity and confidentiality, we will NOT be able to answer individual questions during the session but fortunately there is always the opportunity for people to make an appointment with our service to see a solicitor for one-on-one advice between 11.30am – 2pm after the talk.

Our free hot soup day is on Monday and we are grateful for our helpers- Lesley and Kath will be serving soup on Monday so come along and support them as they lend a hand for another week!

Come along and join us for a reversible bucket hat sewing workshop on Friday, 21st August at Beaconsfield Neighbour House. All fabrics will be provided. Hat fabrics have been precut and will be available in two sizes: S (22" / 56cm) and M (23" / 58.5cm). Please bring along your sewing machine as it's so much easier to sew on a machine that is familiar to you. If you don't have a machine please advise when you RSVP so we can source one. You will also need pale grey or cream thread (as these colours blend in well), pins, tape measure (we'll be sewing 1cm seams) plus a pair of small sharp scissors as we'll be cutting curves (as well as other sewing supplies you'd normally use).
