A cheerful bunch of our clients hopped on an ECHO bus on April 23 for an ANZAC-themed lunch at the Harold Hawthorne facility. It’s one of many planned outings we conduct through the year as part of our Social Support in a Group services, keeping older people connected and engaged and enjoying life. On the bus for this event were: Anton Sontag, Grace Sukroo, Carlo & Carmella Ranelli, Pamela Rose Italiano, Judith Byrne, Mario Del Borrello, Myrna McGinn, Teresa Shaw, Epsipa Harfoushian and Coral Bowers. (Photos by RJ Harnett.) >>> Since ECHO began over 40 years ago, volunteers have been vital to us helping our clients, whether it’s to drive buses or help in the office. If you have time to give, do please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected]

Our volunteer driver Henry Alberts snapped these shots of ECHO clients taking in the Autumn sunshine at Point Perron beach on April 22. Pictured in our three-shot: Myrna McGinn, Epsipa Harfoushian and Bernie Arrah, all looking appropriately sunny in this glorious location. Fresh air and friendship are regularly provided by ECHO as part of our Social Support in a Group services for older people living independently. The outings are always fun. If you’d like to join Henry as part of our volunteer team, we’re always looking for additional bus drivers and bus assistants, so get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected]

ECHO clients on their Social Support in a Group outing walked over the new Boorloo Bridge yesterday. Some made the whole journey from the Victoria Park side to the city side, while others did a half bridge walk from Heirisson Island to the city side. It was a very warm day, but there was still a cooling easterly breeze blowing over the bridge. This was the first time over the new pedestrian/cycle bridge for all members of the group and proved an enjoyable outing – followed by lunch at the Victoria Park Hotel.

Many laughs were had at our annual Christmas lunch at the Mt Lawley Golf Club. Some images here of the festivities, including our many happy raffle winners. Thanks to all who took part and to our generous major sponsors: Pan Pacific Perth Hotel, IGA Bedford, and QV Skincare. Do please share this album with anyone else who attended on the day, and have a lovely Christmas.
