On Saturday Bays Rovers were proud to attend and volunteer at ANZAC Day services across Victoria, standing alongside communities as we honoured the courage, sacrifice and service of our veterans past and present.

From dawn services to commemorative marches, it was a privilege to help support these meaningful events and witness so many Victorians coming together in remembrance.

We thank all volunteers, organisers, service personnel and community members who helped make the day so special.

Lest we forget.

Bays goes to Baw Baw!

Last month Bays Region Rovers went on a summer retreat to Mt Baw Baw, where we stayed at the renowned W.F. Waters Lodge.

There we enjoyed a weekend of board games, pool, cooking, getting to know each other better and nature walks.

It was a great weekend spent with friends and our Rover Units are very excited for their upcoming winter weekends.

Lord Casey received the Baden Powell Lodge Rover Service Award for 2025! This is the fourth time they have received the award in 25 years!

Bays Rovers are proud of the service to the community and scouting movement, and recognise each Rovers efforts and commitment to service. Lord Casey is a huge inspiration for service in Bays, it shows that Rovers can make a huge impact while deservedly being recognised. This is a big win for Lord Casey and Bays and we’re very proud of them!

Last year we said goodbye to a few Rover’s in our region. Every Rover makes such a big impact on our region and all our Rovering lives. Here’s a very very small recap on some of their Rover journeys.

David has been a valued part of .b.balcomberovers for eight years! During this time, he served as Secretary and Crew leader for the crew as well as many years on the region executive community. Most notably as region chair in his final year.

Jeff (otherwise known by his real name, Michael) had been at since 2017. During this time he has held a variety of roles for the unit including crew leader from 2019 to 2022. Notably Jeff has also served on VRC and was the MARB chair in 2024.

Daisy May had been at since 2017 and was secretary multiple times during those years. She also served as assistant crew leader and then crew leader from 2024 to July 2025. She received a special service award in 2025.

Em had been at since August 2019 and held many roles including treasurer, secretary, assistant crew leader and crew leader in 2023 to 2024. She was also the vice chair of mudbash during her rovering. A significant aspect of Em’s rovering was her time spent at the Portugal Moot in 2025.

Sarah joined at the start of 2022. In just a few short years, she developed from a shy person who hardly spoke into someone who would go on to become one of our Crew Leaders. She served on the Crew’s Executive in various roles, including Secretary, Assistant Crew Leader, and Crew Leader.

We wish them all the best as they move onto their next adventurers.
