Tony Barnard jazz composer and guitarist will be featured artist on Ross M Fear’s Alive 90.5 fm Australian Spectrum Show 9pm Tuesday 28 April 2026 showcasing the new album “Kevin Hunt Play Tony Barnard” original compositions.

Tony Barnard is an Australian master jazz guitarist, harp guitarist and composer who has performed all over the world from his native Australia, across Europe, Asia, South Pacific and the Americas. His audiences have included royalty, prime ministers and presidents, celebrities and some of the world’s biggest names in music. Playing many styles including jazz, classical, blues and ambient. He has performed at prestigious international venues and major festivals. Tony has released 48 albums recorded in the UK and Australia. Tony Barnard, with his brother Adam Barnard and nephew Casey Golden continues the Barnard Family Jazz Legacy of his father, the legendary Bob Barnard and uncle Len Barnard.

Kevin Hunt is an award-winning jazz pianist- composer, releasing 11 albums, including 3 albums with jazz legend the late Don Burrows. In 1998 Kevin won the Australian Entertainment Mo Award ‘Jazz Instrumental Performer Of The Year’ and has had two ARIA Awards nominations in 1998 & 2003. He has performed regularly in the Sydney jazz scene since 1979. He currently performs regularly with vocalist Emma Pask and pianist Simon Tedeschi. Kevin teaches jazz studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and has recently completed his PhD.

Stylus were an Australian blue-eyed soul group formed in 1975. They were the only Australian act to be released by Motown Records in the United States. They were popular among fans and their Selinas Sydney appearances had a rock star and music industry audience, as they were highly respected by fellow musicians.

Peter Cupples, singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer has continued since his Stylus days as a very popular artist releasing 10 albums and performing solo, with his band and did a series of gigs with the late Jon English. He is a prolific song writer contributing songs to over 15 albums with his original compositions. His cabaret shows are very popular.

Snez is an Australian singer, songwriter, storyteller and guitarist who is a popular performer on the folk music festival and folk club scene. She is a prolific songwriter releasing six studio albums and winner of the 2021 Alistair Hulett Award – Songs for Social Change for her song ‘No Points for Me’. We will also broadcast selections from her previous three albums ‘Fisher On The Sea’, ‘8 Lives Left To Lose’ and ‘House On Four Wheels’.

Snez has been touring Australia relentlessly over the last few years with over 200 performances in coastal and regional areas in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania. She is planning a UK tour later this year.

(QED, The Flood, Troy Cassar-Daley, Normie Rowe, John Williamson, Alex Smith, Graeme Connors, Anne Kirkpatrick, The Ferrel Swing Katz, theatre shows Hair, It`s My Party, Ain’t Necessarily Rowe) covering all style variations, rock n roll, pop, country, rnb, soul, swing, celtic, cajun, latin, folk and blues. Also writing and releasing two solo albums (7,000 Miles & Shaking Up The Mystery) in the vein of Folk Rock/Blues/Americana. Shane has played and sung on over 40 albums and innumerable jingles and soundtracks as a session musician. Nominated for Favourite Harmonica player at last year’s Sydney Blues Society Awards. He performs regularly around Sydney with his Blues Band and his Americana Jam Band as well as with Matt Ross.

Matt Ross is highly respected guitarist, singer-songwriter performing blues, country and soul music over the past 20 years. Matt Ross started his musical career playing guitar in and around the Sydney Balmain Blues scene in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Matt Ross Band was winner of the Sydney Blues Challenge- Bands the year before. He has been the Musical Director for Country Music Starmaker 2011 Winner, Luke Dickens for 2 years, both travelling to Nashville US, launching a successful duo performance and band. Matt penned the title track to Luke Dickens 2012 album ‘Devil in the Wind’, about the Qld Floods with further credits to Matt on this album. Matt performs as a solo artist, with his group and duo with Shane Flew and a duo with Taya Chani and various band line-ups with other artist’s. Matt's performance style ranges from low-down traditional delta blues to sweet country and Rhythm & Blues. Matt has released an E.P 'Early Morning Rain' and a self-titled Album, ‘Matt Ross’.
