We’re delighted to see the heartwarming story in today’s Illawarra Mercury, featuring PAWS team Alison and Luna and their beautiful work with children at the Wollongong Hospital School.

The story captures some very special moments and shares touching reflections from the children and their families—showing just how much comfort, connection and joy a therapy dog can bring during a challenging time.

Alison and Luna are joined in providing this wonderful service by PAWS teams Julianne and Saxon, and Anne and Lucy. We are incredibly proud of these dedicated volunteers and their beautiful dogs, who bring warmth, reassurance and plenty of smiles to the children they visit.

Thank you to everyone involved, and Illawarra Mercury for sharing this important and uplifting story.

Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

Today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate dogs and the extraordinary human/animal bond—the connection that brings comfort, joy, companionship and healing into our lives.

At PAWS Pet Therapy, we see the power of this bond every day. Our beautiful PAWS dogs offer calm during anxious moments, companionship when someone feels alone, encouragement when things are difficult, and plenty of smiles wherever they go.

The attached video is a little celebration of our incredible dogs and the special moments they create alongside their devoted volunteer handlers. Today—and every day—we’re grateful for every wagging tail, gentle paw and loving heart that makes PAWS possible.

Almost ready for release!

A big congratulations to Suzanne Stevenson, whose latest book — the third in her "Dogs on Doorsteps" series — is almost here!

Filled with beautiful photographs and inspirational stories, "Rescue Dogs on Doorsteps" shines a light on rescue dogs and the wonderful things they go on to achieve.

We’re especially proud that three PAWS dogs — Bronix, Sharni and Lawson — are featured, along with their own inspiring stories.

It’s also wonderful to see Black Dog Institute referenced in the book, highlighting the powerful connection between dogs, wellbeing and mental health.

Thank you Suzanne, for including PAWS in this beautiful book, and most importantly, for giving rescue dogs a much-needed voice and showing just how much they have to offer.

Welcome to the PAWS Family!

Saturday saw another PAWS Training & Assessment Day at our Orangeville office, and we’re delighted to welcome 2 wonderful new teams!

Barbara & Lucy, and Corinne & Stevie have completed their training, passed their assessment with flying colours, and have met all PAWS requirements — now they’re ready and keen to begin their PAWS journey.

And a big congratulations to Millie, who also passed her assessment on Saturday! She’ll be joining Tara, already part of the PAWS family, as her lovely new offsider — we can’t wait to see them out and about together!

We wish our new teams every success and hope they enjoy all the special moments, connections and magic that lie ahead.

Yesterday, PAWS teams David & Riley and David & Bronix were proud to attend Vietnam Veterans’ Day in the Southern Highlands.

Vietnam Veterans’ Day is a time to remember and honour all who served, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice — including the remarkable military working dogs who served alongside Australian troops.

Australia sent 11 black Labrador tracker dogs to serve alongside Australian troops during the Vietnam War. Trained to follow human scent, they helped locate enemy soldiers, track missing personnel and warn of danger. Sadly, quarantine restrictions meant the dogs could not return to Australia at the end of their service, and they were rehomed overseas. Today, they are remembered alongside the servicemen who worked with them — loyal four-legged veterans who also served their country.

PAWS is always honoured to support these important events, laying a wreath to show our respect. Thank you David, Riley, David and Bronix.

Our teams enjoyed another fantastic afternoon of inspirational doggie-themed films, at the Top Dog Festival on Saturday.
