Welcome to Bathurst Community Transport Group Inc. We are pleased to be able to provide you with transport services. BCTG is a not-for-profit organisation providing community transport solutions for people in the Bathurst LGA. We first began operation in 1978 and have provided transport services to the residents of Bathurst Regional Council LGA ever since. In fact, Bathurst is the birthplace of

Community Transport in New South Wales. BCTG is an incorporated body which is overseen by an independent Management Committee drawn from various sections of the community. Our team comprises full time, part time and casual employees and volunteers. We provide a door to door service which transports eligible clients residing in the Bathurst Local Government Area (LGA) to various locations. BCTG receives funding to provide subsidised transport for:
*People over 65 years of age who have been referred by My Aged Care (MAC) for transport
*Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 50 years of age who have been referred by MAC for transport
*People under 65 years of age who are transport disadvantaged owing to physical, social, cultural and / or geographic factors. Individuals who do not qualify for other support programs may be eligible for transport through the Community Transport Program (CTP). They will need to contact BCTG to ascertain the eligibility requirements

We provide in-town and out of town transport to the frail aged, persons with a disability, their carers and those who are transport disadvantaged. Ours service has 3 wheelchair accessible vehicles which can accommodate varying numbers of seats. Other services we offer:
*Orange Radiation Bus Service (Monday to Friday)
*A fortnightly transport service to outlying villages such as Hill End and Sofala, Meadow Flat, Yetholme, Walang and Napoleon Reef, Rock Forest and Dunkeld

After our steam train adventure, we headed to Lithgow Workies Club & Motel for a delicious lunch, sharing stories and catching up before making our way back to Bathurst as the weather began to change.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this outing so special. Here's to more sunny surprises and memorable trips! ๐ŸŒŸ

How lucky were we last Friday! The weather held for our last Autumn Group Outing to the magnificent Breenhold Gardens at Mount Wilson. We had a short stop at the Wollemi Bakery & Cafe for morning tea to ensure we were fueled up and ready for a day of exploration. The autumn colours were fabulous and a great day was enjoyed by all. We have now received several requests for spring visits to other gardens so stay tuned for that!

Our last shopping trip for autumn is Wednesday 22 May to Penrith. There are just a couple of seats left if you would like to go!

Who doesn't love the chance to get out and about and discover something new!
We did just that in late April when we took a group of our clients to the Western Sydney International Airport Experience Centre. A fascinating look at what the future of this airport will become. After our tour of the Centre we headed off to The East Bank at Jamison Town for some lunch - so many choices so little time!
Look out for upcoming group trips in our next newsletter to be issued in the first week of June.
