Towac Park, ORANGE NSW, August 16, 2025:

The Orange Race Club and BTB Members in support of Mr John Kinghorn’s family will be hosting a
memorial service for John Kinghorn OAM.
John passed away in his sleep on Tuesday 29th July 2025 at Molong Hospital at 86 years.

Friends, relatives, and horse riders who have been coached or judged by John who volunteered at pony clubs throughout NSW are invited to come to share complimentary food and tell stories about their memories of John in his 65 years of competition, coaching, showjumping, eventing, judging and course building for community horse organizations including:

Orange Pony Club, Cudal Pony Club zone camps, Kempsy Pony Club, Molong Pony Club, Cumnock Pony Club, Cowra Pony Club, Wellington Pony Club, Parkes Pony Club, Eugowra Pony Club, Young Pony Club, Lithgow Pony Club, Trundle Pony Club, Orange Equestrian Club, Carcoar Pony Club, school teams All Saints Equestrian, Kinross Equestrian, Stannies Equestrian, Coonabarabran North West Expo, and students from other schools.

Many of John’s students have competed at a State and National level in showjumping and eventing. He also coached Megan Bryant at pony club who went on to represent Australia in Dressage World Equestrian Games.

John has been awarded the Order of Australia at the Kings Birthday this year for his service to community and would have personally received the medal in September.
Attendance is welcome from 12pm

Saddening News to learn of the passing of a great supporter to BTB Members. Vice President John Kinghorn.

Today we have lost a wonderful equestrian, mentor to thousands of children and adult riders, coach, Level II Jumping judge and course builder, father and husband.
Farewell, my friend John Kinghorn OAM. Until we meet again.

We know your presence will be missed at the Bathurst Tack Box and at the hundreds of equestrian events throughout the Central West NSW.
