What is the Pinewood Derby?
The Pinewood Derby is a Cub Scout racing event where participants build unpowered, gravity-powered wooden cars from a kit and race them down a sloped track. The activity, introduced in 1953, involves designing and constructing a car that adheres to specific weight and size regulations, with cubs leaders mentoring the scouts through the process.
