Barraba Potters and Craft Guild
“Come and Try Day”
Pottery
Pottery is the process of forming vessels and other objects with clay and other raw materials, which are fired at high temperatures to give them a hard and durable form. From Wikipedia. It is also said that pottery is a very relaxing and therapeutic hobby.
Pottery techniques encompass a variety of methods for shaping and decorating clay into ceramic objects. These include hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building, as well as wheel throwing. Glazing and firing are also essential steps in the pottery process.
Have you ever wondered what a coil pot is? Come to our day on the 26th September at the Barraba Clay Pan, from 10am to 3pm to find out!! Clay will be supplied. For people 15 years & over. The Pottery session will be under the tuition of local pottery instructor, Annette Brittain who said “This will be a fun, hands-on pottery day, where attendees explore clay, watch a potter’s wheel demonstration and create their own unique hand-built pieces to take home. Dress for mess, nails cut short and leave your valuables at home (eg rings and bracelets)”

Back by popular demand!!!
Felting workshop will be held on the 26th of September from 10.00am to 1.00pm at the Fuller Gallery. 74 Queen Street, Barraba.
If you would like to try needle felting, this is your chance to “give it a go” and try something new or refresh your technique.
Articles that can be made on the day are gift cards, needle case pictures, earrings or a sheep, under the guidance of guest tutor, Janice Smith from Narrabri.
Cost is $10 per person.
Bookings and payment requested prior to the day.
