A HUGE thank you to the *83* people who came down to visit the MHERV van and took the time to have a free health check! It was fantastic to see so many people putting their health first. A quick check can make a real difference, so please keep the conversation going and encourage the men in your life to look after their health too. MHERV van has moved to the Bunnings in Tamworth for the next couple of days so if you missed out there is still time! A massive thanks to Kath, the incredible nurse administering the checks and her wonderful husband Craig taking the time to talk and get to know our people – your work and contribution has been tremendous. Another shout out to Brooke at Babes in the Bush for assisting our van with power while they were here. Thank you for supporting this important community initiative! 💙

Rotary has donated $600 towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation to fund vital research into understanding, preventing, detecting and treating breast cancer.

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear friend, Mandy Cabot.
Behind every successful event, every fundraiser, and every gathering was Mandy—quietly working behind the scenes with grace and humility. She never sought the spotlight or recognition, yet her kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment helped shape so much of what we do. Mandy embodied the true spirit of Rotary: Service Above Self.
Her impact extended far beyond our club, generously giving her time and talents to many organisations throughout our community. She made everyone feel welcome, supported, and valued, and her gentle presence will leave an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
To our President, Ian Cabot, and the entire family of Mandy, we extend our deepest love, heartfelt condolences, and unwavering support during this unimaginable time. Please know that your Rotary family stands beside you, holding you close in our thoughts and prayers.
Mandy's legacy will live on through every act of service, every friendship she nurtured, and every life she touched. Though she worked quietly behind the scenes, the difference she made was extraordinary.
Rest in peace, Mandy. Thank you for everything. Forever missed and forever remembered. 💙💛

🎄 A Meaningful Christmas Contribution to Richardson House 🎄

This week, our Club had the privilege of donating $26,000 to Richardson House Aged Care — funding that will enable them to purchase six much-needed new beds for their residents. 🛏️💙

As Rotarians, we believe in supporting the heart of our community, and Richardson House plays an essential role in caring for our older citizens with dignity, compassion, and dedication. Being able to contribute to their ongoing work is something we are incredibly proud of.

These new beds will provide greater comfort, safety, and support for residents, while also easing the workload of the wonderful staff who care for them every day. It’s a practical investment — but it’s also deeply personal. Our seniors are the foundations of Barraba, and it’s an honour to give back to them in a meaningful way.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this donation possible — our members, supporters, and the wider community. Together, we’re helping build a stronger, kinder, more connected Barraba. ❤️
