We were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the new John Hunter Hospital a couple of weeks ago. 💜🏥

Kim, Cath & Helena from Ruby Mae's Wish were given a tour to help us truly visualize the family area connected to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing donors and the dedication of the Ruby Mae’s Wish Coastrek walking team, we are proud to be helping fit out this special space. It will be a safe, welcoming environment for parents and carers who find themselves at John Hunter Hospital during some of the most difficult and critical moments, often when their child requires lifesaving treatment.

This family area includes two bedrooms and a kitchenette, all located right next to the PICU—so families can stay close to their child, while also allowing medical staff to reach them quickly if needed.

We are so excited to begin bringing this space to life. Our hope is that it provides comfort, support, and a sense of calm during incredibly challenging times.

We can’t wait to share the finished result with you all… it’s already starting to look something pretty special ✨💜👏🥹

How about making a splash at a pool party at the Barraba Memorial Swimming Pool, thanks to Tamworth Regional Council they have provided FREE entry 🏊‍♂️

Or, if you’re more of an early riser, why not join the Park Run at the Australian Standing Stones in Glen Innes? I’ve even heard a little rumor that Sunrise on Channel 7 might be there… 👀

Good vibes, great people, and all for charity—sounds like a pretty awesome way to spend your Saturday!

Huge congratulations to all of our hat winners! 🎉 With just under 100 amazing entries, choosing wasn’t easy at all — the creativity and effort blew us away.

A big thank you to our independent judges who stepped in to make the tough call… and honestly, it was that challenging that we couldn’t stop at just a few — so we’re making six hats! 🙌

Congrats again to the winners — we can’t wait to see these designs come to life! 🧢✨

PS: the kids designs were so good we had to exclude the adult entries, sorry parents 🫶🏻
