💙 Volunteers are at the heart of Anam Cara House Colac.

Every day, our volunteers bring comfort, companionship and practical support to guests and families during some of life's most challenging times. Whether they're providing a listening ear, helping with activities in Day Respite, supporting fundraising events, tending our gardens, or helping someone tell their life story, their contribution makes a real difference.

This year, every donation made to our Appeal will be matched dollar-for-dollar by a generous local supporter, meaning your gift will have twice the impact.

🧡 Why respite care matters

As part of our Annual Community Appeal, we'd like to share how your support helps local families.

Respite care provides short-term support for people living with a life-limiting illness while giving their carers time to rest, attend appointments, spend time with family, or simply take a break.

At Anam Cara Colac, we provide both day and overnight respite care in a warm, home-like environment, ensuring those we care for continue to receive compassionate support while their loved ones recharge.

One carer shared:

"Regular access to respite meant that I could be a better carer, that I could spend time with my daughter and grandchildren interstate, knowing that my husband was also enjoying his time at Anam Cara."
