Earlier this term we heard from about the experiences of the persecuted church and how we can support them. Through our fundraising we have supplied 15 bibles which will go to believers in these regions.

We praise God for the way he reveals himself and works in the lives of many, even in the places where people are challenged for worshipping him. Let’s remain prayerful for our brothers and sisters across the globe 🩶

BIG QUESTIONS - WEEK 5 💭

Science is valuable, but it can’t answer the deepest questions of life that only God can.

The Bible tells us we are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:26–28), which gives us value, identity, and purpose. Science can’t tell us these things. It teaches us about creation, but God is the Creator who made the world with intention, order, and meaning.

Creation reveals God’s power and divine nature (Romans 1:20). Scientific discovery should point us to a wise, powerful designer and lead us to worship Him, as Psalm 19:1 says “the heavens declare the glory of God”.

Science makes more sense with God, because He is the One who made the world we study.

BIG QUESTIONS - WEEK 4 💭

Jesus says those who are persecuted for righteousness are blessed (Matthew 5:10–12).

We are truly blessed not when life is easy, safe or comfortable, but when we suffer for Jesus’ name — because it shows we belong to Him, we are united with Him, and we share in the hope of His eternal kingdom.

Walking with Jesus may be costly, but the reward far outweighs the sacrifice.

Hebrews 13:3 calls us to remember and pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters as we are one family in Christ. We are so thankful for and the reminder of this we heard last week.

A great night on Friday as JNR and SNR youth heard Joel from Open Doors speak. They were reminded of our brothers and sisters who endure persecution across the globe for their faith in Jesus 🤝🏼🌏

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew‬ ‭5:10‬

BIG QUESTIONS - WEEK 3 💭

When it comes to the God of the Bible, we must have a right fear, deep respect and awe for who He is — our Creator, our Holy Judge, and our loving Father.

1. God is our Creator
God spoke the world into existence (Genesis 1; Psalm 33:6–9). His power should humble us and lead us to worship and depend on Him.

2. God is Holy
We are to fear the One who rules over eternity (Matthew 10:28). His holiness exposes our sin, but the right fear leads us to trust in Jesus, who makes us faultless before God.

3. God is our Father
He knows and loves us deeply as His children (Matthew 10:29–31, Romans 8:15). We don’t fear punishment, but fear sin because it grieves Him.

A right fear of God doesn’t push us away but draws us closer — to worship, trust, and obey Him.
