A common misconception during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah is the belief that it is forbidden for the one intending to offer a sacrifice to cut their hair or nails, and that doing so affects the validity or acceptance of the sacrifice.

The correct understanding is that the sacrifice remains completely valid and accepted, and cutting the hair or nails does not invalidate it in any way. Rather, refraining from doing so is recommended for the one offering the sacrifice, as mentioned in the hadith, but it is not a condition for the sacrifice to be accepted.

May Allah bless us and you this Eid, accept our deeds, and grant us success in righteous actions during these blessed days.
