Where Do You Find Peace?

When life became difficult, where did the Prophet ﷺ turn?

He would say to Bilal:

"O Bilal, call the iqamah for the prayer and give us comfort through it."

He also said:

"The coolness of my eyes has been placed in the prayer."

For many of us, prayer can sometimes feel like another task to complete.

For the Prophet ﷺ, it was the opposite.

It was the place where his heart found tranquillity, where his soul found peace, and where he found closeness to Allah.

The more we strengthen our relationship with Salah, the more we begin to experience that same comfort.

May Allah make the prayer the most beloved part of our day.

The Difference Between a Muslim and Disbelief?

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"The covenant between us and them is the Salah. Whoever abandons it has disbelieved."

This authentic hadith demonstrates the immense importance of the prayer in Islam.

Salah is not merely another good deed among many. It is the greatest pillar of Islam after the testimony of faith.

If you have fallen into abandoning the prayer, do not despair.

Turn back to Allah in sincere repentance while you still have time. His mercy is greater than your sins, and He loves those who repent.

May Allah make us from those who establish the prayer and remain steadfast upon it until we meet Him.

"What brought you into Saqar?"

Allah describes a conversation that will take place on the Day of Judgement.

The people of Hell will be asked:

"What brought you into Saqar?"

The very first reason they mention is:

"We were not among those who used to pray." (Quran 74:42-43)

This shows the immense importance of Salah.

No matter how busy life becomes, no matter how many distractions surround us, our prayer must never be neglected.

If you've fallen short in the past, don't lose hope.

Allah is Al-Ghafur, the Most Forgiving, and He loves those who turn back to Him in sincere repentance.

May Allah make us from those who establish the prayer until our final breath.

"I'm too busy to pray right now..."

How often do we hear these words?

Work becomes busy.
The children need attention.
Family outings fill the day.
Meetings run late.

Before we know it, Dhuhr, Asr, and even Maghrib have all been delayed until the evening.

Allah warns:

"Then there came after them successors who neglected the prayer and followed their desires, so they will meet Ghayy." (Quran 19:59)

The scholars explained that this includes people who habitually delay their prayers beyond their prescribed times because worldly distractions have overtaken them.

Salah is not meant to fit around our schedule.

Our schedule should fit around Salah.

May Allah make us from those who guard our prayers and establish them on time.

Do You Delay Your Salah Until the Last Minute?

Many people think that as long as they pray before the time ends, there is no problem.

Yet Allah warns:

"So woe to those who pray, those who are heedless of their prayer." (Quran 107:4-5)

The Prophet ﷺ also warned against habitually delaying the prayer until the very end of its prescribed time, describing it as the prayer of a hypocrite.

This reminder isn't about making people lose hope—it's about encouraging ourselves to honour Salah by praying it as Allah intended.

May Allah help us establish our prayers on time and protect us from hypocrisy.
