Postponed!!!!

Due to a number of reasons ranging from sick children to broken limbs, our meeting scheduled for today has been postponed. Unfortunately that is the nature of the beast when you run with a small committee. Keep your eye on our page for the new date. Thanks for your understanding!!

We will be serving up your coldies at the Moura Coalfest bar on Saturday/Sat night. Feel free to come and say hi and let us know if you would like any more info about joining the Banana Sports Committee Inc. We welcome any new members whether you are local or ‘up the road a bit.’ Family friendly meetings, so feel free to bring your kids to our next general meeting on September 1st at 4pm.

📣 Banana Sports Committee Meeting – Monday, 1st September 🗓️

Join us at the Banana Race Track on Monday, 1st September at 4:00pm for our next Banana Sports Committee meeting.

We’ll be discussing some exciting upcoming projects and events – including a proposal to host a Camp Draft in 2026 🐎

We’re looking for community members who are interested in getting involved, especially in helping plan and organise this event. Whether you’ve got experience or just want to lend a hand, we’d love to see you there!

BANANA BATTLE OF THE BUSH SPRINT RACES

To all our amazing riders, racing fans and community supporters:

Sadly, the committee has made the decision not to hold the Banana Battle of the Bush event in 2025.

We know how much this annual race means to so many—whether you're a rider, a local family who never misses it or someone who just loves the buzz of partying at our bush track. We apologise and hope to bring it back for you all soon.

We want to thank everyone for the continued support and enthusiasm you show year after year. Please stay tuned—we’ll keep you posted on future events.

Until then, take care, share the memories you made with us and give your horses an extra pat. 💛🐴

We’re inviting all members—new and old—to attend our Annual General Meeting on:

🗓 Thursday, 17th July 2025

All positions will be declared vacant and we welcome anyone interested in being part of the committee or lending a helping hand!

A general meeting will follow and we will be discussing the future of our Race Day along with future events and work at to the grounds. Your input, ideas and support would be incredibly appreciated.

Giving Back – We can make a Difference.

At Banana Battle Of The Bush 2024 we had the privilege of supporting a cause that is heartbreakingly close to home for us — brain cancer. It’s a disease that has touched too many lives and we knew we had to do something to help.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our wonderful surrounding community, a meaningful large donation to aid in the fight against brain cancer happened. Every single contribution, big or small, played a part in making this possible and for that, we are truly grateful!

A heartfelt thank you to the Howard Family for their dedication to helping others, even in the face of such personal loss. Your strength and compassion inspire us all.

📸 Meet (some of) the faces behind the Banana Races!

The Banana Sports Committee is a small but passionate group that’s been working tirelessly since our revamp in 2018. While not everyone made the photo, each member has had their part (big and small) in bringing events to life for our community and making improvements to the Banana Sports & Recreation Grounds.

Whether it be planning these memorable events or creating a welcoming, user-friendly space again, our little committee has poured heart and soul into making our grounds a place for everyone to enjoy. From our annual race day, to a wedding or a significant birthday party, we’re committed to keeping the grounds a pleasurable location for all.

Big thanks to our committee and a big shout-out to everyone in the community who continues to support us! 🫶

The Banana Battle Of The Bush 2024 Fashions on the Field is wrapped up for another year! Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to everyone who took part—you all looked fantastic and brought so much fun to the event. I hope you enjoyed a bit of light-hearted style and celebration.

A special shoutout to our Fashions on the Field sponsor, Lisa and the team at Lonsdale Agribusiness. We’re so grateful for your ongoing support—give them a call for all your agribusiness needs!

Thank you to our judge, Laura Bignell, who had a tough job with so many great looks on display. We appreciate your keen eye and expertise!
