Wiser Driver is a FREE four-week refresher course for older drivers, which Balwyn Evergreen is hosting on Mondays in September.

If you’re keen to build on your knowledge and experience of driving, join us for this informative and friendly course that aims to keep you driving safely.

Topics covered include: safety rules, driving today, car safety features and safety tips. Participants will also receive handbooks and online resources.

Big news for the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) - it's been extended until June 2029.

Relief for 830,000 older Australians: The government has officially delayed plans to merge the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) into Support at Home.

Health Minister Mark Butler confirmed the merger would be delayed until June 2029, after widespread concerns from providers, advocates and older people.

Advocates have welcomed the pause, calling it a sensible decision while the new Support at Home program continues to face issues with delays and reduced service.

Our wonderful kitchen volunteers enjoyed a thank-you lunch last month as our little way of showing our appreciation for all the hard work they do!

Representatives from healthAbility will present this session and will cover:

-Recent Support at Home changes

-Aged care support and services available

-Connecting with the My Aged Care platform

Here are a few pics from today’s Chatty Cafe relaunch, as part of our nod to Loneliness Awareness Week (Aug 3-9).

It was a lovely morning of coffee, colour and conversation and a nice way to welcome new faces to our community.

Our chatty Cafe will run weekly on Wednesdays from 10.30am-11.30am and is open to older people 65+, their families and carers who would like a dose of social connection.
