When life is hard and times seem dark, it can be hard to find a reason to hope...
That's why at Saltbush we welcome guests who need some time and space to regroup, regather, and catch their breath.
Things seem a little easier when you have had a chance to put down what you are carrying, even for a little while. And when you can rest safely, in welcome, in peaceful surroundings, even dark times can start to seem brighter.
There is a reason to be hopeful. There is joy and rainbows still be found.
Sometimes we just need a little pace and quiet to find it again.

Sometimes things look worse before they get better. And sometimes too, it takes a lot of work, and extra support, to make the changes you need to see. We get it.
But we also know that our guests should be able to enjoy the very best we can provide them when they come to stay with us, so the mess and hard work to get these kitchens in is totally worth it.
Because our guests have their own challenges to deal with, we want their stays with us to be as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
Thanks for the incredible support from our volunteers and from Community Bank Balnarring & District who have helped make this possible. Stay tuned to see the changes!

When people tell us what they enjoyed about their time at Saltbush, there are many things they mention, but our peaceful grounds and beautiful restorative gardens and native areas are thungs people mention over and over again.
We are currently hard at work nurturing the exisiting gardens and expanding them even further, ready for our guests to enjoy, rest and heal in...

Thank you so very much to Red Hill and District Lions Club - Victoria for your generosity in providing us a grant that will go directly to supporting families who need a break that they otherwise woould not be able to afford. It was great to connect with other groups and organisations that the Lions support and hear their stories, and how they are all in turn supporting our community. Thank you also Lyn and the team for a wonderful dinner and evening.

It may be a more quiet time at Saltbush, but that doen't mean we aren't incredibly busy! Look at these garden works going on - getting ready for a new path to our Nano Community Centre and removing some agapathus to make way for native gardens and a beautiful, peaceful seating areas to invite our guests outside and enjoy the restorative benefits of nature. Thanks to everyone who made this possible, inclus]dinga generous grant from Community Bank Balnarring & District. We are sure our guests who are facing difficult life circumstances will really love these improvements - stay tuned to see how this all develops!

This week we are celebrating the many amazing volunteers who support Saltbush. From gardening to maintenance, tree-planting to linen folding and so many other roles - you are all amazing!
We want to give a special big shout out to all the people (new friends and familiar ones) this year who have helped demolish the old kitchens and install new ones, who have developed our native gardens, and who have planted trees to restore what was once farmland at the back of the property.
And much appreciation to the people who help run our school holiday programs, bringing so much joy to children - and a bit of a welcome breather for parents too.
Thanks too, to our volunteer board who help steer the great ship Saltbush as we navigate many new and exciting changes.
Vollies - you help the world keep turning and we are so grateful for all you do - thank you!

Charities like ours rely so much on the kindness of our wonderful community of supporters, and regular, reliable contributions to keep the doors open and the lights on are especially valuable. As we approach Mother's Day this weekend, we want tp celebrate Property Mums, an incredibly generous supporter of ours.
Just like us, they provide short term accomodation, and understand the importance of making memories that last a life-time, which makes our relationship even more special. We are so delighted that they have chosen us to help live their goals of giving back, of valuing value transparency, integrity, and trust. Anyone who is looking to rent out a property of their own to should check them out, they are certainly a wonderful group of professional mothers who help make this world a better place. Thanks Property Mums and Happy mother's Day!

At Saltbush, we understand the value of connection, and taking time out to focus on things that really matter. Over the weekend we hosted Acoustic Guitar Weekends who organised a group of like-minded souls to gather and share music and stories, and forge friendships over a shared love of guitars.
Human connection is so important and powerful, especially in these times, and where better to enjoy it than in our beautiful, natural surroundings here in Balnarring. By all accounts the event was very much enjoyed by all.
