In the language of the Boon Wurrung people, on who's land we walk and work, and who divide the years into six seasons, we are now in the season of Pareip, also known as "True Spring." This season recognises the closeness of the constellation of Turt-Bul Liwurruk or the Seven Sisters. This season is also well loved for the golden profusion of wattle flowers that bloom at this time of year.
It is a time to feel awakening of the senses and of the earth, to become present, to notice what is emerging and to welcome possibility into our lives.
It is not just the wattle that is golden at Saltbush, there are so many beautiful yellow flowers to enjoy, and help our guests, volunteers and all visitors here feel welcome and joyful.

A very special thanks to Community Bank Balnarring & District for their generous contribution to our new kitchens, now installed in all 6 of our houses!
It has been a long but very worthy project, made possible by the support of grants, the incredible work of volunteers (especially Paul, Eric Matt and Rowan) and amazing businesses who also donated time and resources. Thank you everyone!
Kitchens really are the heart of the home, so having these clean updated kitchens means so much for our guests. They can enjoy a warm and welcome space to cook, to gather, and to share food and stories and connections. This is where healing and growth can happen. And brighter futures can be conjured and imagined.
Thank you to all who have enabled this precious building and nurturing to happen, and to continue for many years to come.

We know you don't make a song and dance about it, but Property Mums just quietly go about being a regular, generous supporter of Saltbush. These school holidays we wanted to let you know how especially grateful we are that thanks to your support, we are able to ensure that kids who wouldn't normally get a holiday have a chance to get away, reconnect with family, play in nature, and to feel safe and free. That's a pretty special thing for anyone, and especially for mums, but we know you get it. So thank you x

Sleeping like a baby is not a given for many families dealing with challenges, hardship or trauma. But having a safe, comfortable place to rest certainly helps.
We are so very grateful to our sponsors, Bay Linen Hire and Laundry Service who provide us with clean, fresh linen so that our beds at Saltbush are as comfortable, and as restful as they possibly can be.

A HUGE weekend for Saltbush this last weekend! Let's start by thanking the amazing volunteers from Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation and Merricks Coolart Catchment Landcare Group with the support of many groups and organisations for the final planting session of our wilderness for this year. This project has been transformational not just to the land it is healing and the wildlife who live there (and the more yet to come!), but to all the all people who have been touched by contributing in such a variety of ways, and ultimately to the very idea of what Saltbush is and can be. This project has been the work of many, many people from the original idea to the regenerating land we can see today. To every single one of you, and all that you have gifted, in vision, time, energy, ideas, money, resources, organisation - and of course passion - we thank you. 🙏

As part of their BRIDGES program, our Year 9 students created beautiful cards in support of Saltbush Balnarring. They also had the opportunity to hear from Amy from Saltbush, who shared an insight into the organisation’s work that enriches the lives of people experiencing hardship by providing a peaceful environment for rest, play, growth and connection.
It was a valuable experience, helping students understand how their creativity can make a difference.
