What a beautiful and emotional graduation ceremony at Balmoral State High School this morning.

A fantastic group of young people who are so full of promise for their future.

And for me, extra poignant, as I see so many of the students like Ben, whose journey I have followed since primary school (Seven Hills State School, in Ben’s case). And have had so much pleasure watching their growth.

The last look at our existing tuckshop facility at Balmoral SHS. Over the past couple years Chef Cindy and the team have worked miracles producing quality, homemade items to keep our students and staff nourished. Come Monday, they’ll be packing up and relocating to a temporary site and demolition to begin on the 16th. The new facility will be twice the size it is now with a huge new coldroom, improved traffic flow and a much needed commercial exhaust. Whilst we will need to operate a reduced menu in term 1, we are very excited and looking forward to moving into our new facility in term 2.

The P&C have been advocating for this upgrade for a number of years. Thanks to Di Farmer MP who secured the grant for us and to the school who are contributing a significant sum of money to make this happen. We are so thankful for this support. Watch this space!
