Four meals from one roast chicken and a pretty lovely Friday afternoon in Balmain. 🍽️

Ten of us gathered by the water for a Cooking for One session with Monday Club member and retired Women’s Day Food Director, Jennene Plummer.

Jennene showed us how to turn one roast chicken into four simple meals with very little waste. Then, of course, we sat down together to enjoy the results.

Good food, a glass of wine, plenty of conversation and a few new ideas to take home. This is what Monday Club is all about learning something, meeting people and enjoying yourself along the way.

We’ll be doing more cooking classes and lunches soon.

If this looks like your kind of afternoon, come and be part of Monday Club.

Think you need to know the steps before joining a dance class? Absolutely not. 💃🕺

Paul’s Dance Club is about good music, good people and having a bit of fun while you move.

You’ll recognise songs from decades of memories and good times, meet new people and probably have a few laughs along the way.

You don't have to get every step right. Just come along and join in.

And if you’ve been thinking about giving it a go, your first class is complimentary. 😊

Come and have a look around Monday Club 👋

Chris and Jill created Monday Club because they wanted a place where getting older could be about feeling good, staying strong and enjoying yourself along the way.

You can do your strength training on our AO80 circuit, join one of our fitness classes, have a dance, grab a coffee or simply stop for a chat.

It’s fitness, fun and social all in one place. And hopefully, a bit of a happy place too. 😊

Watch the video but even better, come and see it for yourself.

It’s not too late to build strength.

Sometimes getting older happens quietly.

The stairs feel a little harder.
The shopping feels a little heavier.
You think twice about getting down on the floor.
You start saying “I’ll leave that to someone else.”

They might seem like small things. But they’re often the things that help us feel like ourselves.

That’s why we created Momentum 9 strength program. Nine weeks of personalised support to help you work on your strength, at your pace, with someone alongside you.

No pressure. No keeping up with anyone else. Just a program built around you and where you’re starting from.

Because staying strong helps you keep doing the things you want to do, for longer.

Ready to start?

Join Momentum 9 and we’ll refund your $200 assessment fee when you commence the program.

It’s our way of helping you take that first step towards feeling stronger.

☕ Very good news. Coffee is very good for you.

We’ve been reading Dr Michael Mosley’s Just One Thing, and one recommendation certainly caught our attention:

Drink coffee every day.

It sounded almost too good to be true, so we did a little digging.

And there’s some very encouraging research around moderate coffee drinking and heart health, stroke, Type 2 diabetes, cognitive decline and even some cancers.

But there are a few things worth knowing including how much coffee we’re talking about and why the way you make it might matter.

Coffee drinker? We think you’ll enjoy this one. ☕

Led by our Accredited Exercise Physiologists, we’ll look at the types of exercise that support brain health, common barriers to staying active, and simple things you can do to keep moving as you age.

YOUR BODY MIGHT JUST SURPRISE YOU 💛

Before you jump into strength training at Monday Club, we like to get to know you first.

Not just your age. Not just the number on the scales. You.

Your Wellness Assessment is a relaxed one-on-one with one of our Exercise Physiologists, using our Technogym technology to get a better picture of where you’re starting from.

We will look at things like:

💪 Muscle & strength – where you are today and what we can work on together

⚖️ Body composition – because there’s much more to your body than weight alone

🚶 Movement & function – how you move and manage the things you do every day

📊 Your Wellness Age – another way to understand where you are now and see how things change over time

And don’t worry, there’s nothing to pass!

It simply gives us a starting point. From there, we can shape your strength program around you so you can get started feeling comfortable, confident and supported.

Then, as you train, we can come back to those starting numbers and see what’s changing.

You might be surprised by what your body can do.

Know where you are. See where you can go. 💛

Last Friday, 21 of our Monday Club members came together for our very first casual lunch at the Balmain, celebrating , and what an afternoon it was!

What started as lunch quickly turned into plenty of laughs, lively conversation and new connections, exactly what Monday Club is all about.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Maureen and the wonderful Royal Oak team for making us feel so welcome.

Connection doesn’t happen by accident. 💛

This week, 3–9 August, is Loneliness Awareness Week - a reminder of just how important meaningful connection can be.

Loneliness can affect any of us, at any stage of life. And helping someone feel more connected doesn’t have to involve a grand gesture.

Sometimes it starts with something beautifully simple.

😊 A warm hello.
☕ An invitation to share a cuppa.
📞 A phone call to someone you have been thinking about.
👂 Taking the time to really listen.
💛 Letting someone know they have been thought of.

For many older Australians, these small moments of connection can make a real difference to the day.

At Monday Club Social Club, we believe everyone should have a place where they feel welcome, known and part of their local community.

Our Social Lounge is a place to drop in, meet people, share a conversation, join an activity or simply enjoy a cuppa in good company.

Because sometimes the smallest moments can mean the most.

Who could you make a little room for this week?
