Golden City Paddle Steamer and Museum Society Museum is open on Sundays from 10am to 3pm all year. Operation may be cancelled if adverse weather or Council Lake closures apply.

Paddle Boat "Golden City" (replica of original Paddle Steamer) operates on Lake Wendouree for casual trips on Sundays during summer.I Also available to hire for group bookings. Museum is open Sundays during Summer months from 10:00am to 2:00pm

Paddle boat is available for private hire by appointment, see 'Contact Us' section of website www.goldencitypaddlesteamer.org.au

Paddle boat operates for

Public Cruises on Sundays during Summer months between 1:00pm and 4:00pm from Pipers Wharf near Botanic Gardens.

Together Festival – Community Memorial & Gathering

On Australia Day, 26 January at 11:00am, the Golden City Paddle Steamer Museum Society will begin this year’s Together Festival with a quiet memorial at View Point, Lake Wendouree.

This short, symbolic service is held in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the Bondi tragedy of 14 December 2025, and in solidarity with the many others who continue to live with its impact.

A wreath will be laid on behalf of our Society and members of the Ballarat and District community are warmly invited to lay wreaths if they wish.

Following the memorial, the Together Festival will continue throughout the day, celebrating unity, culture, and community through a range of local and community acts.

We will close the festival at 5:00pm with a powerful performance by the internationally renowned Welsh Choir, including a moving Yiddish number.

This day is about remembrance, compassion, and coming together — honouring lives lost, supporting those still healing, and standing together as a community.
